Hello fellow IORRians!!!

I am looking for a great recording done with a band that showed up on these pages, it was allegedly Bobby's (RIP) last recording session. I can't find the actual song, anybody who can shed light on it anyhow??

Thanx!!!

With The Rolling Stones it must have been 'Brown Sugar' at The Roskilde Festival (near Copenhagen), Denmark, Thursday July 3, 2014 during the 14-on-Fire-Tour.
Dunno, if Bobby plays also a bit on YCAGWYW and Satisfaction.

Bobby Keys wasn't a member of the Stones-Touring-Band anymore since 15-Oct-2014: [www.rollingstones.com] and has been replaced by Karl Denson also on 15-Oct-2014: [www.rollingstones.com] .

Perhaps it was this one, posted by Green Lady? [iorr.org]

If I'm not wrong there was a fellow IORR guy (from Scotland, I think) whose name I can't remember but he posted here some years ago that Bobby recorded a song with him/his band, although I'm not sure if he plays on The Second Sons or not.

Cheers Irix! My question though was about the recording he did with a little-known american band who's name escapes me (and the song). The guy posted here some time ago about the song but I just can't find it even though I use the search engine.

...And the Brown Sugar solo still echoes inside the Tele 2 Arena in Stockholm every time I attend a derby game there with my beloved AIK.... What an honour it is that his last arena (and non-festival) show with the boys were in Sweet Home Stockholm. I can swear I hear him between the chants, blowing the horn....

Hi Madmax,
Check out the second post on this page: [iorr.org]
The musician, Raymond82, posted a link to his song w/ Bobby, which is now defunct, but the link address includes his full name & the song title - Raymond Meade / "Why don't we do it again?". IIRC, he said it was one of the last (possibly the very last) recordings on which Bobby played. Hope this helps smiling smiley

It looks like that Bobby doesn't played in 2012 on 'Doom & Gloom' as well as on 'One More Shot'.

Therefore it must be an earlier recording, for instance the 2011 Some Girls Deluxe Bonus-Tracks or even much earlier:

Is there sax on any of those SG-tracks? Bobby's not on Watching The River Flow, either.

I'd say Emotional Rescue (after checking out the credits).

It could have been that he played another Instrument, like Percussion on 'Happy' ('Exile on Main St.'): [en.wikipedia.org] .

But yes, it looks like his last Studio session with The Rolling Stones was in 1979 in Paris for the 'Emotional Rescue' Album.

[StonesSessions.com] says that some Takes of 'Waiting On A Friend' (S496), 'Slave' (S526) and 'Neighbours' (S672) have Saxophone on it, recorded in 1980, but obviously with Sonny Rollins - [en.wikipedia.org] .

[NZentgraf.de] says in entry 710710A that Bobby played on 'Plundered My Soul' [en.wikipedia.org] - but probably only the vocal + guitar overdubs from Mick J. & Mick T. are from 2009.
