If it's the same kind of deal as it was with Exile, one has to buy the DVD seperate - so no need to save any bucks here.

Its been the most logical outcome for some time, Justin.

We've known Some Girls deluxe was coming - and Eagle Rock have signed a deal for archive DVD releases a couple of years ago, saying they intended to put out two per year.

Plus its a 2-DVD set according to the amazon link.

Cant see why anyone can be underwhelmed. Its maybe the only 1978 show that was completely filmed (for an unreleased concert movie) and only the first 28 minutes have circulated on video so far, and only as a 2nd or 3rd generation copy at best.

I think the release date of this vindicates the rumours that the expanded Some Girls reissue should be out before the end of 2011.

Indeed Gazz...I have to admit that I've been painfully pessimistic with any future releases/projects from the Stones camp. The Exile releases began to turn the tide...but I thought it was a one-off thing.

It seemed that all the planets were aligning correctly for this to happen with the Some Girls material but I never wanted to believe that it would actually happen--in fear that it would actually all fall through. It's great that Mick is finally seeing the value of this stuff...I never thought he'd back a 78 DVD.
