"It's not easy" - Cabin 54

This is very nicely produced, bustabutton!

A little american U2-ish sound there. Couldn't find any more stones-references than already mentioned here, though.

Nice move turning to colors after the break.

Thanks for your kind words Max'sKansasCity, and for your interest generally.
"The Passenger of Cabin 54" is the name of a work of art by the French painter Henri Toulouse Lautrec. See, in 1896 he set off by ship from Havre France but instead of getting off in Boudreaux he continued for weeks all the way to the end of the route in Lisbon Portugal as he was enchanted by the passenger in Cabin 54 and had to paint her. Didn't talk to her. Didn't even know her name. Stayed on a ship for almost a month & ended up on the other side of Europe just to paint her. Now THAT's an artist!
We happened to visit a museum with his works a few summers ago in Andros Island, Greece during the early stages of the band and were so moved by this story we made it our band name.
It's a good thing, because it's easy to be wooed away from the artistic path by promises of riches & fame and we oftentimes need the reminder. Just trying to keep it real.

I thought you must have a great story/reason for your great name;
""it's easy to be wooed away from the artistic path by promises of riches & fame and we often times need the reminder. Just trying to keep it real"" ... cool smiling smiley... It is just nice to finally see an IORR member actually post some of their musical work, BIG PROPS for getting it done... keep on keeping on.

ps
Did you see the actual painting of the woman he painted at on the ship?, is it also called "cabin 54"?

Don't know if it's serious, actually, neither on Max's or on bustbutton's side
Quite frankly; I find "It's not easy" to be awful; especially becuase of the singer - who acts like a girl, bodywise - and expressionwise - very gay-ish.
Makes we want to puke!

Here's a song of "my band"; just a cover-tune. I play the guitar.
It's a good rocker.
A nice way to forget about the awful song posted in the thread, I think

God dude, unnecessarily harsh and obviously you're not a fan of Mick in his androgenous stage then, huh? No '73-'75 bootlegs for you, young man. And then you want me to *download* a song of yours because 'it rocks'? No thanks, if I can't just preview it. How much could it rock anyways if one of the musicians is so insecure ("very gay-ish. Makes we want to puke!")? Probably not much. btw, I didn't listen to all of the posted song either, just not my style, but as a musician (who both Rocks AND has gay friends) I appreciate the effort in recording/filming the band did and wish bustabutton well.

Oh wait, is that one of the other Stones references? Insecure ignoramouses think the singer is fey so the band upsets their world-view and they no-likey?

A nice well-produced pop song with an 80-ies feel to it. Made med think of, for some reason,Bruce Hornsby and the Range. Is the Stones reference the setting who looks like the one on the super rare ´72 bootleg?

I m not into this type of current song at all; or the look. Not at all.
But anyone who perseveres in getting the guys together, writing the tunes (for this one here there are most likely 50 others), recording, getting the vid, - hats off.
That is a major task, and respect for that.

Cabin 54. Don't know if this is the same group I saw almost 10 years ago in a club in Athens, Greece. Well, in that show there were clearly many Stones references. The singer's attitude on stage was one of them. They played Jumping Jack Flash and Mick's God gave me everything I want.

Great story behind the band name. A true cultural and artistic reference. Although the song is not exactly what I dig I listened to the whole thing and it's, as they say, well produced. The bass cracked me up. Have fun with it.

No way Kirk, it can't be true. You've seen us at Mike's Irish Bar probably, right?
Yes it's been 10 years, and we're still at it (and still playing Mike's!)

Yes. Mike's Irish Bar is the name of it. Apart from being a Stones fan I was really impressed by your attitude while playing those Stones/Jagger numbers. It wasn't simply just another pub band throwing in a couple of Stones songs. It was like: "This kind of Stones groove is really important to us". You're still at it for sure!

bustabutton,
Man, It is awesome that you are guys are still going so strong, making great new vidoes, playing live... and people remembering you from 10 years ago... that can only mean one thing... you are due to be an "overnight success" any day now.... Isnt that how it usually works? Work at it for years, and then BAM!!!!

Keep on keeping on, and keep us posted.
