As with any street musician, I suspect it's all in the delivery. I heard an awesome group of 3 bluegrass musicians ripping some Stones songs with some classic bluegrass harmonies and they were pretty damn compelling. Attracted a nice crowd. I've also heard a lone wolf belting out Mick Jagger that was so horrible I wanted to run. smoking smiley

But as far as that setlist goes, if done well I'd throw some money in the case.

Streetplayer, that suggest acoustic guitar, or am I mistaken?
Nice songs to play would be:
Sweet Virgina
No Expectations
I Am Waiting
Lady Jane
Love in Vain (if you've got a slide player with you)

Re: songlist

Angie
Wild Horses
As Tears Go By
Far Away Eyes
Good Times Bad Times
Salt Of The Earth
You Can't Always Get What You Want
Memory Motel
Waiting On A Friend
Sleep Tonight
We Had it All
The Worst

There are many smiling smiley

If I walked past a coffee shop and a busker was playing "Lover's Plea" I would definitely drop a few coins in the hat and listen.

Robbed Blind would be suitable as well?

If you want to make any money don't play anything post 1981, especially anything from DIRTY WORK.

Mmmm. OK. I'll agree with that. You're right. That almost made me shudder just thinking about how absurd that would be.

thanks for your suggestions. we have a rock festival this weekend in Reykjavik with off venue concerts. Bjork was to perform but had to withdraw. Sigur Ros is not participating.

Sing Me Back Home would get him more coin - besides it was a song recorded by a de facto member of the Stones family.

My choice would be Prodigal Son.
