As with any street musician, I suspect it's all in the delivery. I heard an awesome group of 3 bluegrass musicians ripping some Stones songs with some classic bluegrass harmonies and they were pretty damn compelling. Attracted a nice crowd. I've also heard a lone wolf belting out Mick Jagger that was so horrible I wanted to run. 
But as far as that setlist goes, if done well I'd throw some money in the case.

thanks for your suggestions. we have a rock festival this weekend in Reykjavik with off venue concerts. Bjork was to perform but had to withdraw. Sigur Ros is not participating.
