i'm sure this has been mentioned and discussed elsewhere on this board but i just noticed that the announcment of the stones singles boxset includes the statement that it appears the stones' touring days are over. interesting.

It's called Some Girls rarities with no tour.

Maybe I'm over optimistic but I would like to point out Macca is just starting his re-issue campaign, touring (though small) and planning more music. I think The Stones are waiting for the right time to strike. Next year will be 5 years with no news, a good chance to make a big impression.

Well, if so, the place to set up their base for the time of recording would certainly need to be Keith's American home. I mean, after all he's got his finger specialist doctor there. And the country influence could do the album some good, too, as that style was missing on ABB.

Have an exhibition put together "50 YEARS OF THE ROLLING STONES" and setup in each city for a few days before they play there.It would certainly be a big crowd-puller.
