Mac Truly chords

Hey
I have stumbled into a reggae band.
We have been banging out Cherry Oh Baby, a reggae version of YCAGWYW, and I am hoping to sneak Truly by Ian McLagan into our set.
Any guitar guys/gals know what key and what chords to play?
And yes I am newbie guitarist, and have searched the net. I notice in a pic from the sessions that Keef is playing a C barre chord, to he could be refining Open G.
Thanks in advance !

For any one interested...
The awesome Mac replied to my FB post
What a lovely lil rocker !

Ian McLagan & the Bump Band Hi Peter, It's in A, the verse and chorus are the same I think. It's just A and D, and goes Em G A, and stays there. I'm flattered, but if you ever dig up the original by The Cimarrons it'll blow your mind, it came out in 1976 or 77. All the best, Mac

The original that Mac covered with the New Barbarians for the "Troublemaker" LP.

The original sounds like key of B to me.

B - E - B - E then the turnaround sounds like F# - A then back to the B

thanks heaps for the original track and the chords.

Have been jamming to Macs version a bit today

i am still finding reggae strumming a real challenge, good to get out of my comfort zone.

I have been noodling to the track as well, does anyone know where i should start a lick or two, and what TABs i should be hitting.

I have been noodling a lick or two, but just need a to pushed in the right direction a bit.

i tend to ALWAYS play the same lick, notes, and need to get out of my 'box'.

anyone have a idea on what notes i can start feeling about with ?

seeya !

Well i didn´t work on Truly yet...

For Little Troublemaker i think the intro riff goes C#m - B - E, and then the verse begins with A - B (and i think it countinues with a G#m chord from memory...)

Well i´m pretty sure it´s in the key of E but not sure of the entire song changes at all....help much appreciated!!

Very accessible and a genuinely nice guy who appreciates the fact that people think he is one of the best.
