For your reference, hre is from my site though mostly written in Japanese. [atsuy.web.fc2.com]

This looks much better from your website:

Quote

1. Brown Sugar mono version
2. Bitch mono version
3. Let It Rock mono/live version
1. Wild Horses mono version
2. Sway alternate mono version
1. Tumbling Dice mono version
2. Sweet Black Angel mono version
1. Happy mono version
2. All Down The Line alternate mono version

Now this boxset is really interesting!

So let me get this straight:
1. This information comes from the official UMG website
2. It was translated by someone who actually understands Japanese
3. It pertains to the same set we're buying, i.e. we don't have to mortgage our souls to be able to afford a Japanese pressing
This is just intended to ensure I'm not getting excited about nothing - not meant as criticism or ridicule...

So this might be the only 'modern Stones' box set we'll ever see. Great.

As a matter of fact you can translate it yourself. Just go to [translate.google.com]#
That one understand Japanese. Some words are on the funny side but the rest is very clear.

So the question is - is it a different Japanese-only product or data on UK, EU and US sites is incomplete/wrong/screwed.

I don't see the point in having mono versions on the Japanese set and stereo versions on the "rest of the world" sets. So my guess is all sets get the mono tracks.

If live version of 2000 Light Years From Home is really included as it's shown on the japanese UM site, the only thing missing would be the Wild Horses single plus a couple of 12" remixes.

As I wrote earlier, the Jumping Jack Flash & Wild Horses live singles, wasn't UK or US releases, but European-only releases...

But the fact is the UM site says that these tracks are from UK, US and Europe.

Well yes. -But if you look it up, you will see that the singles in the box, was released in either UK or US. Not in Europe only. The two missing singles, was released (and printed) in Benelux / North Europe, but not in either UK or US, which might explain why they are missing from the set.

By the way two of the tracks from Wild Horses single are already available on Rarities compilation (Live With Me and Tumbling Dice). The 3rd one is on Saint Of Me single (Gimme Shelter)...

So it's beginning to look like they actually did it right this time.
ABKCO, are you listening? It's time to release Sympathy for the Devil and those other mono mixes that have been MIA for decades!

I think ABKCO will release those Mono mixes in a near future. Albeit only on iTunes or so, not to confuse costumers.

Even though they were printed wherever, LARS and Wild Horses, they were available in the US. Does that still make it an import in terms of it being 'rare'?

This information comes from Universal music Japan.

But these informations(alternate mono etc.) are announced only in Universal Music Japan, so I don't know these are correct or not.
Of course I do hope these informations are correct.

by myself (a Japanese. my site -> [www.st.rim.or.jp])

It is announced that Japanese CD Singles Box comes with "import" discs, the same set you can buy, and a Japanese booklet.

Okay, this is weird:

This must be some kind of misunderstanding. Obviously, if it's an official video, YouTube shouldn't delete it...

I can't believe the Star Wars BluRay sets coming out this year won't include the original theartical versions!

(i'll be passing on this silly bloated CD set as well).

So now I get all confused.
Should I order the stuff from the German amazon where it seems to be best priced, or should I wait until everything is clear about the Jap edition with possibly that one extra goodie?
So pissed off though that it doesn't contain the 12 inch for TMB.
That's really something I would have liked.

I'd say there's a 90% chance that they are identical. I'll leave it up to you to decide if those odds are good enough.

I noticed Amazon Japan and Germany announce it as containing 173 tracks, but Amazon USA should have 174 tracks. What is going on here?

Let me input this.
No mono versions are contained in Jap edition.
Please be aware.winking smiley

So Toru, we are absolutely sure that the JP edition doesn't contain extra tracks?

All this sounds funny

It seems that promo guys are complete idiots and 'virgins' in respect of mathematics.

If you'll count the number of tracks listed on EU part of the site you'll get 166. Remove duplicates and the number of unique tracks would be 149. (I could miss one or two by myself winking smiley ) Can't see neither 172 nor 173 or 174 listed on different pages. Could the list be 'preliminary version' like that of 'Live Licks 34 tracks'. Hope we'll not get another version of Rarities angry smiley

Unfortunately, the informations in the Universal Music Japan are revised and deleted following "mono version".

1. Brown Sugar mono version
2. Bitch mono version
3. Let It Rock mono/live version
1. Wild Horses mono version
2. Sway alternate mono version
1. Tumbling Dice mono version
2. Sweet Black Angel mono version
1. Happy mono version

Only "All Down The Line alternate mono version" remains.

Well, on the bright side, this means that the probability of All Down The Line being the correct mono mix has just increased!
