I contacted UMG to ask whether All Down The Line etc. would be the correct mono mixes or not. Unfortunately their answer was that they didn't know.

Wish they could issue something like Neil Young's archives boxset ...

Ahhhhh. More "forward thinking" on their part. Brilliant. That's how they care eh? They don't know.

That's fantastic!

still no mention from the site how much it will cost in american dollars

Ya I know - and I would love to have this one. I have never heard some of these tracks.
I'm guessing by the English price that we're looking at something around $300 - $350 in the States.

Doubt it. Prices for records in the UK are much more expensive than they are in the US.

A rule of thumb - even though the exchange rate is around £1 for $1.60, you can expect to pay a similar amount in dollars than we do in pounds.

If its £170 in the UK, I doubt it'll be more than $200 in the US.

On this website the track listing is a bit different from the one on Universal store :

http://www.sympathyforthedevils.com/Disco/singlesbox.html

Single 28 has more tracks :

28. Rock And A Hard Place (4.05)
Cook Cook Blues (4.08)
Rock And A Hard Place (dance mix) (6.54)
Rock And A Hard Place (Oh – Oh Hard Dub Mix) (6.50)
Rock And A Hard Place (Michael Brauer mix) (6.57)
Rock And A Hard Place (Bonus Beats mix) (4.15)
Emotional Rescue (5.39)
Some Girls (4.36)
It’s Only Rock ‘n Roll (But I Like It) (5.07)
Rocks Off (4.29)

I guess we'll have to wait a little more to know exactly what's on this singles boxset.

The track lengths for All Down The Line and especially Sway also seem to imply mono mixes! That would be very good news indeed - IF it's true...

I still don't get it...

WHY ON EARTH IS "WILD HORSES" FROM STRIPPED NOT INCLUDED??? Is it just a typo? It's the ONLY original single not included...

Re: Singles Collection 1971-2006

So the duplicates on this set are obviously - mostly - LP tracks just put out again for no good reason other than for the EP to be a mini-hits comp in a way. So what's up with having the same B-side, for example, So Young, on more than one single in this set when...wasn't it a B-side for only one single, which was Out Of Tears?

Remove the duplicates and how many songs are on the box set? It looks fantastic, the packaging, the duplication of the vinyl singles print, etc...

Goddammit. This is something that is so close to being what I've wanted as far as a box set of the remixes and B-sides...it's such a shame it doesn't have some of those Flashpoint leftovers as well as the Wild Horses from Stripped and some of the Undercover remixes...

It's not unfortunately. They could also have included : Star Star/Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo (Heartbreaker), Dance Pt.2, Too Much Blood 12", Winning Ugly 12", Sad Sad Sad/Blinded By Love, Jumping Jack Flash/Tumbling Dice/Street Fighting Man (1991) ...

Star Star was released as 7" single in Europe in 1973.
Too Much Blood was released in USA as 12" single.
Winning Ugly was released in Canada as 12" and 7" singles (backed with Back To Zero)
Sad Sad Sad was released in Europe as 7" and CD single (b/w Blinded By Love).
Jumpin' Jack Flash (live) was released in Europe as CD single with 2 live b-sides unavailable elsewhere.
Wild Horses was released in Europe as a maxi CD single with 3 live b-sides.

If I Was A Dancer was only released as promo but would have a nice addition with its unique b-side...

I don't think you'll regret it. Ther's a lot of nice stuff in it and package looks great. My only complaint is they forgot a dozen of tracks. They could have done a 50-single box set easely IMO...

I might get it now!
Those singles excluded from the set, was niether released in the UK or the US!

*Star Star, was released as 7" single in Europe in 1973.
*Sad Sad Sad, was released in Europe as 7" and CD single (b/w Blinded By Love).
*Jumpin' Jack Flash (live), was released in Europe as CD single with 2 live b-sides unavailable elsewhere.
*Wild Horses, was released in Europe as a maxi CD single with 3 live b-sides.

And they've obiously found some reason not to include those 2 12":

Too Much Blood, was released in USA as 12" single.
Winning Ugly, was released in Canada as 12" and 7" singles (backed with Back To Zero).

I haven't found out why they've excluded the live version from 2000 light Years From Home, though...
