thanks for the response. i understand what you say. i disagree that AI has had any impact whatsoever on any "integrity" associated with the music business. the handful of entertainers who have made the bigtime based on AI success are no different than many of their contemporaries who rose to fame based on more traditional paths. just a different avenue to success. and the so-called "purity" of rock'n'roll, whatever that may be, continues its trajectory, unaltered.
Now I understand the old saying ignorance is bliss. Hats off to you tod.

Well, that's the appeal of this trainwreck for some people isn't it? Seeing men & women who obviously can't sing (though they pass the prelimanry, not-shown-on-tv rounds) being insulted by the idiots who are "judges". I've seen it a few times, didn't want to form an opinion without seeing it. And it's an embarrasing, terrible show.

I think I may have used a poor choice of words trying to express myself.(What a surprise ha ha) I believe its damaged the integrity of music as an art form, possibly? And the integrity of the music business(if there ever was such a thing!) Maybe its a generational thing but it seems to cheapen the process of talented artists paying dues and sharpening their creative skills. I'm sure aware of "manufactured" stars from my generation too(60s-70s) but this thing kinda puts it on steroids! Then again I may be just sentimental and full of sh-t because I can count on one hand the "new" artists that I think could carry water for the rock n roll stars from my generation.

I saw something in one of those links, where the dork comes out and says My name is Buck or whatever and Tyler gets a look on his face and it cuts off before you can hear what he says.

I don't watch it. I just think that. Like a lot of stupid TV shows that I can't bother to watch because they sound beyond stupid, like Dancing With The Stars and other mundane American TV garbage.

I really enjoy it watching it with my family especially the auditions, always hope that there is some one that amaze everybody.........only there are some that should warn by there family that they really can't sing.

Stupid of them to apologize! Maybe it was just to grab headlines. Tyler is crucial to the success of the show at this point, and he's a HOOT! If you don't enjoy the show, fine, but I happen to love it. If Tyler makes a few bucks, so what? If Perry is jealous, too damn bad! It's entertaining, and I think this year the crop of new talent has REAL promise. Steven Tyler has added JUICE to a show that was losing it's fire and appeal. More power to him, I say!

I actually saw a whole episode recently and thought the show was pretty good. I was surprised how laid back and relatively serious Tyler and J-Lo were. Maybe it was just that episode I saw... But they were all 3 into it; as much as you can be on a show like that.
And I have to say: some of those kids were great. All of them deserve kudos for hanging in there in that pressure cooker for teenagers; even the ones who folded. But it was those very two performances that someone just posted: "God Bless The Child" and "Georgia On My Mind" that were astounding.
