Worst Sitcom Appearances

Does anyone remember Keith's cameo on Whoopi Goldberg's sitcom, or Mick on that show based on two guys trying to break into his house? Which was more embarrassing for you personally? Or did Bob Dylan's guest spot on Dharma and Greg desensitize you to embarrassing situations before you ever saw these shows? Just curious. It wasn't a sitcom, but I think Aerosmith in 'Be Cool' might be the worst of them all.

Cringe-inducing. The only sitcom on which rock 'n' rollers should appear is The Simpsons.

And even that gets tiring. There was a time when the Simpsons didn’t have to rely on cameo’s to boost ratings. Saying, that the Barber shop quartet episode featuring George Harrison was a hoot and the episode with Mick and Keith was nice. If not overly hilarious.

It can work, though, if the show's good. Bowie was great on Extras.

Mick could do The Mighty Boosh.

Vintage band appearances from the 60's--hokey, but not that bad really.

I like this one, where The Seeds play a band called "The Warts" on the Mothers In Law show

Here's one with Paul Revere and the Raiders and the Penguin's house band:

Chad and Jeremy got around...

..as themselves on Batman

..and as "The Redcoats" on Dick Van Dyke

Nilsson on The Ghost and Mrs. Muir

This is actually a classic episode of Whats Happening, 1977...Rerun gets busted taping a live Doobie Brothers performance.

Here's more live Doobie Bros. performance's from the same episode:

Ha! The Red Coats (CHad and Jeremy) on The Dick Van Dyke Show- that was a great episode, not cheesy at all...it sort of captured mainstream America's fascination with the British Invasion..and the writing for that show was good, so that is my all-time favorite.
I remember the Doobies on What's Happening was a big deal at the time.
Anybody remember the Beau Brummels on the Flinstones? That was classic.
When I was a kid, I thought the Mosquitos (Gilligans Island) were a real band.

Lowell George and Richie Hayward of Little Feat guest starred on F Troop as The Bedbugs, yet another pseudo Beatles that appeared on 60's television.

Beach Boys on Baywatch was worse. Hasselhoff went to 'their' house to ask them to play a benefit concert to save the beach. They were busy writing a new hit when he arrived. Brian Wilson wasn't there, but he was in the new music video they showed at the end. Can't remember the song, but Mike Love was rapping. I still cringe thinking about it.

Status Quo - well, the two recognisable members - in an episode of the soap opera, Coronation Street. It's not a sitcom, of course, but it may have well of been with this laughable performance,

I would say the worst rock and roll appearance was our Stones promo spot on Beverly Hills 90210, or was it Melrose...?
Or what about Streets of Love on Days of Our Lives?
Yikes.,

John is brilliant yes. One of the worst was the stones on 90210, yes it was Beverly Hills.
But there was also this boring tom petty cameo, don´t know the show
