Brussels Affair - we need the CD

OK, fantastic news that we can actually hear Brussels how it should be, and what a concert! But I really would like to buy the CD, not some mp3 files that float around in the ether, maybe I'm old fashioned, but I need tactility, artwork etc.

Cheers

There are flac versions available. Not just mp3

CDs are being phased out even for major releases. Bearing that in mind, youre not going to have large pressings for archive material.

I was also left with that impression...they're pretty good at having you buy each release several times!

I think the gap they are leaving open will be filled by some boot label.

Naive question: Doesn't the compressed download file size result in an - in the case of a soundboard recording noticeable - loss of quality when played over a hifi system?

The compressed mp3-files, yes, but not the lossless flac-files.

I'm sure the Stones will release it on cd...I hope...ha..

Most of their fans are over 50 and we still love to listen
to our cd's and Lp's..

So more ways to make money from us!!!

I am sure there will be half a dozen vinyl, deluxe and other packages available for everyone that want to stack away physical items in their collection. I do already have 10-15 versions of Bedspring Symphony, Brussels Affairs and a bunch of other reruns of this great item, the Stones will simply add on more that is branded and official.

And then you may do your own burned copies of course.

It's this or nothing, folks. C'mon.

Give them a break...they are now willing to part with this stuff so let's take it any way we can. If the sales are good enough...that might justify them putting out a physical product but for now...this is it. We're getting high quality downloads here. A plastic tray and a booklet isn't going to do much here. We're all old fashioned and want the artwork but we'll just have to swallow this for the sake of the amazing material we should expect.

If this is all just to cut costs, and they were to put out a physical CD, I don't doubt we'd see anything more than the CD put in a cardboard sleeve and no booklet. It's not going to be some deluxe set with a 20 page booklet with color pictures. Ain't gonna happen...yet.

i doubt that very very much - this is the way they decided to make these shows available - much like dozens of other acts before them. this is the economical way to go....

Maybe much more clever...testing and then make use of the old offer and demand principle,at least I hope so..

I have to disagree....The stores still exist TO SELL cd's, as well as online outlets to sell
cd's, books, movies so it would be no reason not to offer them for sale...The biggest costs
to selling cd's are not in the making of a cd but rather the operation of the Store...

The stores and online business need to sell something....

Also the vast majority of Rolling Stones fans are over 40 and still like using a cd and lp's.

The Rolling Stones will make a product that serves their customers...Thats how they
make the most profit!

I bought a CD - some years ago!

Bedspring Symphony - Digitally Remastered - Limited Definitive Edition
Taken from the original TAKRL 1941 realized somewhere over the rainbow
Doktor Stones
200 copies only
European tour 1973

I think the whole CD is BrĂ¼ssel!

Anyobody knows more about the CD? or TAKRL 1941?

No; again, that's a combination of 4th show London and 1st show in Brussels.
The official download here mainly comes from 2nd show Brussels

Easy...Cost is almost nothing to offer it as a download...Then the next wave--They will offer Cd's---Just in time for christmas.
Then a box set for next christmas..This way they will make money from fans who pay for the downloads and then
want the cd and or lp's...Or only want a cd..

This way they keep everyone of their customers happy. = $$$

At least that is my hope..

that's not the way others have done this - and done it successfully. makes no sense to me, either. why would anyone buy it twice in the space of a couple months?

Again, many of their fan base cannot or don't want to download...
Others hardcore fans want to collect official Stones records..

You may be right...The Stones will miss out on a lot of sales
from fans who don't know how to download. And a lot of impluse buying from fans
looking to buy something at their local Record store, Walmart, Sears, KmART, eTC!!

market research suggest something entirely different...the vast majority of music buyers are downloaders...so a few hardcores have to get with the program...they'll learn...

I want official vinyl releases as well. But since we don't have an option for this Brussels show.....I'm very happy for what I get! Well....actually I didn't "get" it; in the way that StonesTod will tomorrow, or so. It's still a great thing....this concert being available.
