OK, fantastic news that we can actually hear Brussels how it should be, and what a concert! But I really would like to buy the CD, not some mp3 files that float around in the ether, maybe I'm old fashioned, but I need tactility, artwork etc.
Cheers

I was also left with that impression...they're pretty good at having you buy each release several times!

Naive question: Doesn't the compressed download file size result in an - in the case of a sounboard recording noticeable - loss of quality when played over a hifi system?

I am sure there will be half a dozen vinyl, deluxe and other packages available for everyone that want to stack away physical items in their collection.

i doubt that very very much - this is the way they decided to make these shows available - much like dozens of other acts before them. this is the economical way to go....

The stores and online business need to sell something....
Also the vast majority of Rolling Stones fans are over 40 and still like using a cd and lp's.
The Rolling Stones will make a product that serves their customers...Thats how they
make the most profit!

Taken from the original TAKRL 1941 realized somewhere over the rainbow
Doktor Stones

Easy...Cost is almost nothing to offer it as a download...Then the next wave--They will offer Cd's---Just in time for christmas.
Then a box set for next christmas..This way they will make money from fans who pay for the downloads and then
want the cd and or lp's...Or only want a cd..
This way they keep everyone of their customers happy. = $$$
At least that is my hope..

Again, many of their fan base cannot or don't want to download...
Others hardcore fans want to collect official Stones records..
You may be right...The Stones will miss out on a lot of sales
from fans who don't know how to download. And a lot of impluse buying from fans
looking to buy something at their local Record store, Walmart, Sears, KmART, eTC!!
