WHERE are these pics you're all talking about??!!

Third post from the beginning.

Interesting pictures, Ive never seen them before. thanks for posting. Micks Sweater reminds of the scene in Spinal Tap when Michael McKeons's girlfriend joins the tour and makes him wear that weird sweater.

I'm sittin here showing these picts from Nellie to my girlfirend and she's said a few things worth quoting:

1. Nice sweater! On Mick. Is it a T-Bird or a Corvette? Nice.

2. Wow they all look so unhealthy, the glamour of herion chic, did Keith just have his blood changed or what? (I'll tell her later about that rumour)

3. Is it just me or does Billy Preston look as green as his sweater?

Sure looks like 1973! It's funny to see how everybody has the big flared pants in pictures from that era. Like the whole Western World wore flared pants for a couple of years.

No doubt good old Aussie wool when into those sweaters!

When seeing the thread I first thought of pics from the IORR song! session at Woodys house with Bowie.Seems there are no pics from that!

Funny seeing him too. He later swore Rock and Roll was just a passing phase and that DISCO was going to be the R&B and Soul music for generations to come. Of course this was after his bank accounts had been well padded from his success recording Donna Summer. He put out a crapload of crap disco records in the late 70's and 80's.

I can just imagine the disco bass line he is playing so intentedly in the photo that has Stu so bored he's one handing it and Jagger turning his back and walking over to Keith's area. Not often (lately) do we get photos of these guys with their guard down. Nice post. peace

Glad I was too young and avoided the nightmare of flares and synthetic fibres!

Love these pictures, just great!!!!!

A gentle bump for these classic pictures ! Does anyone else remember reading the series by Peter Dogget (sp?) in Record Collector on the Stones unreleased tracks ? Under 1973 (or was it for the IORR sessions?) I think he listed some tracks as "Gorgio Moroder" jams. I must have these RC mags in a box somewhere...

Anyway with that picture of Moroder on bass it seems these could have actually existed...wonder if they'll ever see the light of day someday. After all other than what appeared on the classic "Lonely at the Top" boot ("Drift Away" and "Living is a Harder Love" ), the IORR sessions have been surprisingly "unbooted".

G. Moroder was famous for keeping the temps at Musicland at near frigid levels so as to encourage heavy use of the coffee/cocoa vending machine.

Olly there are bigger Stones fans than her who still believe that rumor. Hell, I'd bet even you believed it at one time, I know I did.

What's funny is that the lyrics to "Criss Cross" do mention a "blood transfusion"...but when did it first leak? When it was included in the soundtrack of that Japanese (?) movie? Not sure when that was...

Well.....In the late 70's and early 80's one (of the many) therapies against heroin addiction was blood transfusion. Basically you replaced the 'contaminated' blood with new, fresh blood. Many heroin addicts in Amsterdam received that treatment for sure.
