Pauly,
what impression did you have on Glen's bass playing? Does it fit into the Faces sound? Normally he plays as quiet bit different from Ronnie L. style.

i can't write much now but ohhh man they blew the roof off -
the bassplayer & vocalist rocked true and hard -
the interplay between Ronnie and Mac was a joy to behold -
and the sound of that guitar was so gloriously filthy i nearly wept with rock & roll joy

it was brilliant - thanks & praises, Faces! thanks & praises

what the heck are they doing a Wings (Maybe I'm Amazed) song for?
hope that one gets dropped FAST from the setlist.

searing solos from Wood on Paul McCartney’s "Maybe I’m Amazed," a track the Faces covered on 1971’s Long Player.

From the "Long Player" LP I believe...and a big FM radio staple back when the Faces were still up and coming.

. . and a good one!

And the Faces rendition was nice too and has been part of their program through the years.

This thread makes me happy, just like the threads about Charlie's boogie woogie.

Maybe I'm Amazed???? Denny Laine along with Joe English was going to have a few "Wings" reunion concerts - wink, wink.

Just kidding - glad everyone enjoyed the "Faces" concert. Ronnie and Friends would have been a more accurate name.

If you just listen to the clicked videos without looking you would belive it was Rod. Mick is a great substitute!
And, of course, a love record would be a start for re-issuing the band.

LOVE record?! Of course, I wanted to write a LIVE record... but I will love that live record.

Something about hearing those keyboards again that takes you back to that time. It's like a signature or something. I agree with Happy - this news makes me happy. Can't wait for the schedule to come out. Also can't wait for some high quality video from Goodwood. Did ya hear that you Goodwood goers!!??!!

Rock and roll lives jack

Why is that? Ronnie, Kenney and Mac. That's more than a significant part of the band.

What I'd like to see them add to the setlist is a Small Faces song, if only as a reminder that there was (and can be) a version of this group without Rod.

Mac did a melancholy version of "Itchycoo Park" on his Spiritual Boy (tribute to Ronnie Lane ) album that I heard him sing in Austin a few years back. And it was... "all too beautiful."

Sing it, Mac!

"The part that was missing – and irreplaceable – was Lane’s. His key songs, such as Debris and Glad and Sorry, were not even attempted."

I don't know why not. Mac does a fine job covering Lane's songs. He could have seen to it that Ronnie Lane was at least there in spirit last night. Who knows? Maybe he wanted to do some of RL's songs and got out-voted.

Yes, but the version that was released as a single, and became a hit, was from the live Wings album.

Sing it, Mac!

I bought that CD (Spiritual Boy) at one of Mac's shows and had him sign it for me. I much prefer his version of Itchycoo Park to the original.

Well last night's show was billed as a mini-gig and only had a 12 song setlist. So maybe they'll expand it to include some of RL's stuff.

"It's just some friends of mine and they're busting down the door"
