Keith once said that "I want to see how far this thing can go, ya know...?" And he explained that he meant like age, change and integrity. I love that thought. Keep it rollin' as far as you can. Nothing bad will happen' Just let it roll, roll, play your guitar as long as someone wants to listen. The Stones are still pioneers in that context.

Keep off the moaners on this board. Some people never change. Some people believe that Keith ought to be 26 yars old and play the riffs like he did then. The Man is growing on 70, and is still rolling! Not to mention Mick Jagger! Never mind the moaners!

Please, keep rolling guys! I'll be there! Personally I believe that the Stones will be rolling again. But not because of the writings in the Sun.

Well this idiot knows a lot of their people and they are getting things together right now which all points to a tour.Believe what you want but you better start saving your money is my only advice.I will see you there.

OK, my inside source just slipped me the set-list for the final tour. It is being revealed here first:

Rocks Off
Rip This Joint
Shake Your Hips
Casino Boogie
Tumbling Dice
Sweet Virginia
Torn & Frayed
Sweet Black Angel
Loving Cup
Happy (Keith)
Turd On The Run
Ventilator Blues
Just Wanna See His Face
Let It Loose
All Down The Line
Stop Breaking Down
Shine A Light
Soul Survivor

Plundered My Soul (encore)

They won't need a "B" stage because this set will only be played in lovely theatres with wonderful acoustics. They will be joined by special guests Bill Plummer, Bill Wyman and Mick Taylor, in addition to, of course, Bobby Keys.

OK, I have to go back to Planet Earth now.

Must be great to be an insider. That sounds exactly like the Sun report - was it one of their people that you know who leaked it? Are any of their people working on a cool stage with a great concept like the one where they sold rear view seats for $500 by calling them "on stage"? Let us know, please.

That's just it though - we all know that they aren't touring THIS year but possibly next year. So even if they don't next year it's still no big deal.

RRMan03 is legit. His sources are genuine sources. He's not a troll or a tabloid guy getting off on getting attention.

Do you really believe they will charge outlandish prices the next time around? This could hurt attendance. What is your ceiling for a Stones' concert in 11 or 12?

If they don't do it offically as their last tour or at least change their act they will have big problems to fill those stadiums.

For the casual fan there have been enough tours already over the years now and even from their fanbase more and more people are tired or have been bored from too many similar shows.
And many who still go will do just 1 or 2 gigs, not half a tour like they did before.

Those who are still thrilled to see them just wont fill those big places.

Reuters - Several artists have been finding this summer a tough slog. Earlier this month, concert industry publication Pollstar said that ticket sales from the top 100 tours in North America had slipped 17 percent in the first half of 2010, compared to a year ago.

I think a farewell tour is far more likely to flog tickets than a Mick Taylor tour (that's not Mick bashing I'd love to see him). The truth is the casual punter doesn't care too much about the line up but they will go to 'events'. And the Last Time Tour would surely be an event.

Don't remember where I read it but some weeks ago an Australian promoter revealed the the Stones were looking for suitable locations for their next tour and THEY WANT CRAZY MONEY!

Why not charge the going rate of a U2 or McCartney stadium show? Tarping off entire sections of stadiums is no way to go out.

I have a great idea! Why not have a Last Time Tour AND Mick Taylor on lead guitar? Wow, what a great idea! Glad I thought of it!

There is a lot of behind-the-scenes jockeying on bringing MT back into Rolling Stones. All of the contractual niceties must be figured out along with an agreement of how much $$$ to pay him for agreeing to tour. Mick and Keith have not given final approval to the move yet . . things are still touch-and-go right now.

I will report further information as I receive it.

mitchflorida is quite the character. he makes a joke, someone responds to it, then he replies back with his usual style of annoying arrogance.
can we please ship this guy off to guantanamo bay? or the iorr-equivalent.

Let him go. Talking to Mitch is like ignoring the DO NOT FEED THE BEAR sign at the zoo. You have so much fun doing it, you're content to ignore the consequences until it's too late.
