my wedding of stones

On saturday I got married- it was a blast!

In church we convinced the priest to go along with us in having Satisfaction bombing out of my specially hired band for the day, just before my bride came in.then a moment of silence for people to wonder whats going on..

Then, during the ceremony I had ordered two songs - wild horses and All about you. Sympathy was not suitable according to the priest. Anyway - it was magnificent, everybody loved it!

After dinner- the party got started and it all ended up with the band and the groom (me) playing about half a dozen Stones-songs to my beautiful bride.

The whole thing was magnificent, guests calling it the best wedding of all times, I am pleased to hear that.

Kind of embarrased to see the tape tonight, but quite good considering the amount of alcohol during the eveningsmiling smiley

Great!

Congratulations on your wedding!

Ok - i have to ask though - All About You is a really strange choice for a wedding. It's not a very flattering song about one's partner - even though he still loves her. Honestly, if it were me, I would be insulted. Sorry to be a bitch here, but I can't for the life of me think why you would pick that song.

coming on the high heels of I Can't No Satisfaction, I think thematically, AAY was right on the money....

My bride wanted all about you, she´s not that into the stones and I let her choose that one despite its lyricssmiling smiley She figured it´s time to give the music a try-she´s not at all musically influenced in her life before meeting me some years ago. She had hardly heard anything at all..

But, it´s coming around, she´s growing into it, and she´s looking forward to a new world tour for her to see them, even though she has a hard time understanding me being to nearly 30 shows with themsmiling smiley

She´ll learn to love it!

Well Theospappa, congrats!! Must have been fun.

Still, some details confuse me a little. The priest refused "Sympathy for the devil", I can understand that, but he accepted "All about you"? If I remember well, the lyrics of "All about you", in resume, say something like "I´m sick and tired of dogs like you .......... you´re the first to get blamed, and the last bitch to get paid..." (even if then we have the redeeming romantic part "how come I´m still in love with you?)

Well, what an open-minded and epicurean priest you´ve got! Who was him, Lemmy Killmister? I´d love to be married and blessed by Lemmy Killmister, what a colorful wedding it woul be, if I only could find a chick willing to (Zumabitch is a male, not that this counts much nowadays)

Congrats and cheers again, Theospappa

Hey Cindy..I thought the EXACT same thing. (i'm on the road at a relative's wedding...it's on Saturday
and i doubt we'll hear any Stones songs......on a positive note, the wedding is being held
at the House Of Blues...so....it's got great potential)

(thanks to Keno)
ALL ABOUT YOU
(M. Jagger/K. Richards)

Well if you call this a life
Why must I spend it with you?
If the show must go on
Let it go on without you
So sick and tired hanging around with jerks like you

Who'll tell me those lies
And let me think they're true?
What am I to do
You want it, I got it too

Though the lies might be true
That's just cause the joke's about you
I'm so sick and tired hanging around with dogs like you
You're the first to get blamed, always the last bitch to get paid

Oh, tell me those lies
Let me think they're true
I heard one or two
They weren't about me, they weren't about her
They were all about you

I may miss you
But missing me just isn't you
I'm so sick and tired hanging around with dogs like you

Tell me those lies
Let me think they're true
I heard one or two, and they weren't about me, they weren't about her
They're all about you
I'm so sick and tired
What should I do
You want it, you get it...
So how come I'm still in love with you?

We had Wild Horses played as my wife walked down the aisle and our first dance was to Keith's version of The Nearness of You. Think a few eye brows were raised.

at our wedding, we had a local jazz pianist do a rendition of the beatles' "and i love her" - we couldn't think of anything appropriate directed toward me.....

it's too bad there wasn't a song entitles "and i flushed him". That would have been perfect.
