Thank you for posting the tracklisting AP! Much appreciated.

Looks like there isn't anything new in this set that hasn't been released before...?

"Strange to include officially available tracks..."

The fake Scorpio did it already with their Dylan's "Genuine Bootleg Series vol.IV" : a good chunk of the three cds was official "rare" stuff.

Wasnt there a medley which included it? I will check it. But, yes, as a standalone track it seems to ne new.

Otherwise, the tracklist is rather unspectacular in terms of new and previously unreleased tracks. So theres only the question left if the sound quality is dramatically better than on previous releases. If not, I save my money because I could easily compile a set like this from the boots and tapes I already have.

Which ones?

From the Decca years (assuming they are the same versions), these are all released officially:

Fortune Teller (take 1)
Poison Ivy
Fortune Teller (take 2)
2120 South Michigan Avenue
Look What You´ve Done
Congratulations
Time Is On My Side
(the ALOO demos don´t really count, imo)
Surprise, Surprise
Susie Q
Everybody Needs Somebody To Love
I´ve Been Loving You Too Long
If You Let Me
Cosmic Cristmas
Jiving Sister Fanny
Downtown Susie
I´m Going Down

All of the above (except Fortune Teller without harmonica) are on the 2002 remastered CDs.

Agree for a few ones, but some of them are alternate/different mixes from official releases.

"...a few ones"?

I know that there are some (slightly) different mixes of Downtown Susie and I´m Going Down, as well as an alternate take of Jiving Sister Fanny available.
Also, Look What You´ve Done exists with a talked intro, and Susie Q with some intro seconds before the actual song.
2120 South Michigan Avenue and Look What You´ve Done are in stereo on the CD remasters, but were previously released in mono.
I´ve Been Loving You Too Long has been officially released with and without audience overdubbed.

If any of the others on my list are different on this Scorpio release, I think it would be news to most collectors - but very welcome news, of course!thumbs up

O.K. dcba we get the message you think that it's the fake Scorpio, I amongst others on this board know it's not. So let me ask you if it is 100% real Scorpio will you buy it ? or will you wait until someone else buys it and uploads it to a torrent site :-)

This is NOT genuine Scorpio. The best outtakes releases were the 3 double sets from The Godfatherecords from 2-3 years back THROUGH THE PAST DARKLY Vol 1-3. These have the best quality sources and from different source tapes than the many times rehashed stuff! These are a must have! Have 'm on my ipod RIGHT NOW!!! thumbs up

I cant tell you HOW I know without revealing a trusted and dependable source that I would not want to cause any problems but this IS genuine Scorpio...
As far as The Godfather releases the pkg was great(although some of the info on them was incorrect) but there was nothing new on them and the sound wasnt any better than on numerous othet sets(unless you like the treble boosted cause thats all they did)

Re: Scorpio 6 CD release -

Godfather records only compiles already existing stuff.
For newbies only.

Re: Scorpio 6 CD release -

Godfather has their sources for excellent material and like many other labels they sometimes use material already released! At least they are not rehashing year after year under a different banner like VGP, Dogs'n'cats etc......

And Mitch dunno since when YOU were around but I'm around when it comes to bootlegs since 1982. I had/have the original vinyl material, The Swinging Pig stuff, genuine Scorpio material, TMOQ etc.so don't call me a newby, ok?

Godfather has some very nice pkging AND the are real silvers but I havent seen them come up with anything new or different. They misrepresent sometimes.Like calling most of their Wien 9-1-73 recording (GR 334/335) a sb when it was just a clone of the Vinyl Gang audience recording. I bought my first bootleg in 1973............

Hey susanne and scottkeef, while you are both here... may I ask, what is your opinion of the Invasion Unlimited bootleg CDs? I am not really into bootleg labels or anything, but when I acquired a copy of the "Itchy Fingers" CD by Invasion Unlimited I was blown away. This was ages ago, mid-90s or something. I'd be interested in your opinion of that label and their releases

Re: Scorpio 6 CD release -

I love all the IU discs (Especially "Made In The Shade" and "Beat Beat Beat at the Beeb") At the time of their release I would say they were some of the highest quality outs avail. What I mean is there may have been some upgrades on some songs since these were originally released in when? mid 90s? But I still say you cant go wrong picking up any of their releases!! Just my opinion tho....

PS I think their BBC collection (named above) might be the most comprehensive collection to date?

Re: Scorpio 6 CD release -

The earlier volumes of Invasion Unlimited were excellent, by the mid-seventies there were too many unnecessary edits and the sources were not always the best available. Agreed, their BBC collection is the finest.

I cannot disagree more. THROUGH THE PAST DARKLY Vol 1-3 were major disappointments because despite all these "different source tape" claims most of the stuff sounds unnatural, harsh, whatever = obviously over-equalized and processed. There is NOTHING on these sets that managed to convince me that it was really from a "new source".

I cannot agree more. I've immediately sold the first volume again after one listen and have never bought the two other volumes. Just crap IMHO.

You collect since 1982 and talk like a newbie, sorry.
Knowledge is not (only) a question of time.
I know some collectioners who buy everything without having any clue about which is the best release of one show of a studio outtake...
How can you compare Godfather to VGP?
Godfather never unearted any new material or new source.
Even DAC found some great new material/stuff (in the beginning)

I bought all their releases when they came out. (around 1995)
Nothing new, but quite clean "remastering" of some track and clever compilations, especially "Beat Beat Beat".
Never thought to resell them since the 15 years I go them.
