The first 6 are really great, with "dancing in the light" being in the lead after the first 20 listens. PMS is an even better listen on the album.

I'm not sure what my favorite is yet, but Title 5 is definitely the most suprising one! By the way, whose voice is that in the beginning? Jimmy Miller's?

Pass The Wine is EXCELLENT!!! I love the groove and the horns. Amazing!
I'm not signifying is very very good!
The horns and mix are VERY different on Soul Survivor. GREAT MOMENT!!
Title 5 could be the background music of Austin Powers!
Mick Taylor is excellent on Good Time Woman.
On the whole, I haven't been thrilled like this by a Stones record since ......"Some girls"!!smiling bouncing smiley

Already posted this in another one of the many threads about Exile.
Is it just me or does "Following The River" really sound like "Hang On To Me Tonight" from "Wandering Spirit" ??? BTW I love it. Already one of my favourites from the "new" songs.

fav: good time woman, always liked it.
worst: following the river, mick's vocals are beyond brutal
that's the only one that makes me cringe, the cd works for me if i think of it as a bootleg and not released product.

Following The River came out of nowhere for me, classic Jagger ballad. The vocal melody and backing vox are just beautiful - the "...you always saw the best in me" line, both the delivery and sentiment, is heartbreaking and has me welling up after a few too many glasses of Bordeaux. We are all drinking French red tonight, yes?

So far this release has exceeded every expectation for me, but Following The River alone makes the entire project worthwhile. Spectacular.

just heard

pass the wine, f***in great latin funky
plundered, been listening for a while now, like it a lot
i am not signifying, the moment the horns kicked in i thought i'd faint
following the river, i am not ready to think of mick as the "new" elton yet
dancin in the light is really rolling good, classic stones

my pick tonight is
i am not signifying

I am surprised by Good Time Women. Never heard it in such stellar sound quality, and the performance is fairly kick-ass. I like most of the bonus stuff, but so far I have enjoyed this one the most.

'I'm Not Signifying" gets my vote on what I heard this evening.

The preview clip didnt get me too excited, but the full version was very impressive.

Reminds me of 'Hide Your Love' a bit, only it's considerably better.

For now and in no particular order:

Dancing In The Light
Plundered My Soul
I'm Not Signifying
Soul Survivor
Loving Cup
So Divine

I go with Gazza except for the last part of his last sentence.

After more listens, "I'm Not Signifying" is really a good one. Love the horns, piano and especially the slide.

But I gotta say I keep going back to "title 5". Not an amazing piece of music per se, but cool to me as it's the only time I can imagine the Stones doing something that sounds like surf rock.

At this moment Plundered but this is not fair because this song is more familiar then the rest.
I like also Pass The Vine and Dancing In The Light.

Dancing in the Light has now drilled its way into my brain!

As much as I hated (and still do hate) the idea of fiddling with the old tracks, Jagger does an *amazing* job on this one. Love the garbage dump lines and "who's potatoes are you peelin?"

Also some people might not get the lyrics that mentions Fletcher Christian and Captain William Bligh:

(also, i do not have the CD, only what i have heard via videos and the npr tracks)

I'm just getting a chance to listen to this and was cracking up at the lyrics. I like this one too..

Now that yer nose got some re-defining - you look like a million BUCKS!

Wasn't looking too good, but I was feeling real well.
