I'm scratching my head over this too -

King: So Mick, did you know Frank?

Mick: Frank?

King: Sinatra. Chairman of the Board.

Mick: Well, no, I--

as a goof - first question was about.... Sinatra!!!

Not a bad interview. I had to laugh when Larry asked, "How do you keep it up?", in reference to Mick being on his game. Mick almost busted up at that point.

I wish LK would allow Mick to fully answer his questions before moving on to the next one.

Same old questions. What a waste of time. Just think of all the things you could ask Mick...not that he'd answer them! And The Beatles interlude was uncalled for.

Imo,this sucked, the high point for me was when at the beginning he asked Mick,'How do you keep it up"l was hoping for a great answer from Mick,"With Viagra of course". Nothing about the other band members,a New record, etc.
Larry kept mentioning Frank Sinatra,l guess to impress Mick, overall a waste of time, and it showed how little Larry King knows about the Stones or their music.

Roland - i agree - the wrong mix - not that i care for him, but anderson cooper might have been better - at least he has a pulse

HIGH POINT...

Larry King: Did drugs affect any of the band's performances?

Mick: Probably.

..the Sinatra stuff was meant as a compliment...King considers Sinatra the greatest..he called Mick a legend..the interview was a lot of missed opportunities....King never follows up...frustrating to watch at times.

AC would only be good interviewing Boy George or Elton John.

I don't know what was more excruciating - watching clips from the excremental McCartney / Starr interview, or having to watch Larry King trying to look hip in jeans with suspenders. ("Do the kids still say 'hip'?" ) Of all the talk shows in all the towns in all the world, Mick had to walk on to Larry's...

Nostalgia runs deep when I saw the picture of this speaker's cardboard in the Villa Nellcote on today's Larry King Live.

Nowhere near as painful as I thought it would be. As others have stated, Jagger seemed intent on helping Larry. Mick was neither dismissive or flippant when answering King's questions.

LARRY:
"Mick Jagger is here to talk about the Rolling Stones seminal album Exile On Main Street..."

He said "seminal." Heh Heh.

Or, "The Exile" as he called the album at one point.

Actually think when Larry asked about "The exile"..he was talking about their actual exile ..not the album. So LK used it properly.

You could be right. Overall, I thought it was a pretty good interview. Certainly not the disaster it could have been. Mick was great and the old film footage was fantastic. Very different from the usual LKL interviews.

I agree with most of what has been said here, especially the fact that Mick was in great spirits and when Larry was LAME, Mick just carried on and said something interesting. He was laughing a lot and smiling so you could tell he was UP for that interview, determined to make it good. I was PISSED that Larry King had the FRIGGIN nerve to show clips of the BEATLES on a show with MICK JAGGER!!! WHAT AN IDIOT! I did not want to see the BEATLES on a show about my Stones...and I happen to love the Beatles but that was inappropriate! Who cares that Larry is determining the 5 best shows or some other stupid " contest" he's doing...
And yes the old footage was awesome and different from what we saw on Jimmy Fallon. Larry must have watched the Fallon show that aired STONES IN EXILE footage so as not to duplicate the clips. Some questions were dumb but for the most part, it flowed pretty well, like a normal conversation...and at least he remembered to ask about a tour! Overall I'd give it a B+ for Larry's part, A+ for Mick.
