Mick, Keith Richards "and others" at the Stones In Exile feature release? What, King couldn't remember/didn't know that the third and only "other" person there as Charlie Watts?

Yes, Mick was really engaged in the interview and in very good spirits, a real gentleman, even quoting Somerset Maugham. In spite of LK's asinine demeanor and questions, and in spite of his idiotic inclusion of Beatles footage, Mick carried the show and was very interesting. AND, he said he'd like to tour again, a world tour.

I thought the interview was good. Nice to see Jagger talking about the politics of the legalization of drugs. Agree the Beatles footage was not needed.

Larry must have watched the Fallon show that aired STONES IN EXILE footage so as not to duplicate the clips. .

actually the LK interview was taped before the Jimmy Fallon Exile week. But the STONES IN EXILE footage was
probably dropped in afterward....therefore you mightbe correct or it might just be coincidence. Maybe he didn't
have any Sinatra footage. winking smiley

His answer was fascinating yes; he's a thoughtful and cagey fella.

I think Larry King has officially lost his mind. maybe it's his eight divorce getting to him. The sight of him in bright red shirt and jeans was enough for me to run out of the room away from the TV set.

Why can't Mick ever acknowledge other people in the history of the band. He's such a boring interview. Nothing of substance. When asked how they came up with the name of the band, he answers that it's been lost in the haze of time. It's been lost to you Mick because you didn't come up with the name yourself. Yet he goes on to say that 'WE' came up with the name via a Muddy Waters song, instead of crediting Brian.

"We" being The Rolling Stones? A lot of bands are "we", just like one person operated hotels or whatever. "We" everything.

neptune, you bring up a good point. Why weren't Bill and Mick Taylor mentioned. This whole promotion is about Exile and they were as much a part of making that brilliant album as were Mick and Keith.

Also, some have wondered why he chose to be with Larry King, and not a better interviewer. It's all about exposure, and LK is a very heavily watched show in prime time in the US. Maximum exposure and promotion trumps a substantive interview any day of the week when trying to sell something.

Heh, listening MIck to describe the "critics section"; how the album is going to be a good one: you (Mick) and the band need to like it, then your friends, then your PR crew... one can only ask which was the stage A BIGGER BANG didn't pass...grinning smiley I guess it was the first one. I mean, these guys with that experience need to know when they do something good and when they do not. At the time it gets to the promotion department the verdict is: holy shit, Let's put teh fvcker to GONE WITH THE WIND or something. "Keith, do we really need to play these awful tunes live?". "I guess, Mick, we need to. You know, a living, breathing band thing you love to talk about". "But Keith, I thought the title is enough to justify another mammuth tour.. Shit, next time we will tour behind EXILE.."...

In this series there is no part 7, so it's just a section of part 6.

Note that in the "Exile on Larry King Live" series, the "Stones In Exile" parts were edited out.
Seemed to be "content identification" issues identifying Eagle Rock, Univeral, etc.

The Beatles section was removed too, as it had nothing to do with the interview with Mick Jagger!
If Larry and company had included a section of Larry King with Frank in their show, that would have been edited out too...
