Lies is great! Amazing driving guitar exchanges! And I don't mind the lyrics either.
Ahh, Blinded By Rainbows. Musically it's nice though. Mick shouldn't sing about history. His Primitive Cool album displayed that suckage in fantastic illumination.
I wasn't clear about it but his recent writing is what I was alluding to, which, ha ha, I thought would be kind of obvious with the example. Obviously Sympathy is a whole other world but that was back when he was inspired and could be bothered and it's just one song.
SFTD 's lyrics have always sound as "clichés" IMO.
Some parts of the lyrics I can't stand .SFTD is a song I never sing during the concerts ,but I like the music & sound of it so much .
I am a Frenchie ,as Mick affectionately called them in the Old Grey Whistle Test in 1977 .

It's a tie between Hold Back, Short & Curlies and Rock And A Hard Place, I'd say
Fortunately they had the decency to include those tracks on lp's that aren't worth listening to anyway

Indian girl was always on my list too but sadly the love songs from VL kicks it right off...At least the guitars on IG makes

I must disagree. The band is really on fire on "Sparks Will Fly", especially Charlie. "Keys To Your Love" is at least a pleasant ballad.
"Sing This All Together" is my nominee here. It doesn't even sound like the Stones. It sounds like it were from a different band. And then these lyrics have Mick turning into an animator.

I was very embarassed at college when I first got Bridges to Babylon and Might As Well Get Juiced came on, everyone was like what are the Stones trying to do techno now? I know there are the the roots of a cool blues tune behind those horrible effects but man.
Also, Where the Boys Go is also a runner up. The Stones doing punk with those horrible backing vocals, again could be a better song with some adjustments.
