American Master's has presented what I feel to be one of The greatest docs. I ever seen. If this is a prelude to Johnny Depp's doc. on Keith Richards we should be ALL drowling for that!

"Well my heavy throbbers itchin' just to lay a solid rhythm down"

I just watched it. I honestly hoped I would like it more, but it felt kind of pedestrian. Plenty of good music of course, and lots of footage I had never seen was shown. But it felt kind of like a wikipedia entry-style history of the band; no new revelations exactly. Still, it's worth a look for old fans or newcomers to the band.

I believe I just watched this on PBS w/ Depp narrating...pretty good.
He made a point of mentioning Jagger was front row at a performance
with Pamela sitting on his lap.

I agree and found it hard to believe that THIS was the film they HAD to make because the Oliver Stone movie had been so terrible. This almost looked like something they had thrown together to GIVE to Oliver Stone, along with the instructions to "make sure you get all this stuff in the movie".

I thought it was very good except for the glossing over of any details of Jim's death. It came out years ago that he was using heroin while in Paris and subsequently died of an overdose, yet not one mention of any of that.

Liked it alot, but ended abruptly with no mention of post-Morrison Doors...the legacy, myth, band members, etc.
