In Canada, they were called Angel City. Why was that? I remember that song No Secrets, think I had the album. Also, a song called Take Me Away to Marseille (I think).

they were known by the name Angel City so as to avoid legal problems with another band in america called Angel which was signed to Casablanca records.

the song was just listed as marseilles. i was into the angels before my love (obsession) with the stones kicked. great act live toured the pub scene a lot down under..

Thanks for the info! I recall the band Angel, don't know any of their songs. The only cool thing about them I remember is that the logo of their name was the same even if viewed upside down.

Ah, the Master Apprentices. Don't get me started about them. A truly great band. War Or Hands Of Time is the well known one but this is a killer too.

It's said that Billy Thorpes hit version of Poison Ivy was a rip off of the stones version. Another aussie band- whose name I can't remember-had a hit with Fortune Teller also based on the stones version.

There's an innumerable amount of Aussies with British connections and swarms who hold dual British/Australian nationality. One such example is a guy called 'John Farnham' A huge pop-star in his adopted homeland I understand. He was born and raised in Dagenham, Essex, U.K. until the age of 10 when he and his folks joined the many who ventured down-under in the 1950's and 60's.

Yeah there were many few that made that journey to down here and then found fame ... Olivia Newton John ... Farnham ....Jimmy Barnes ...Easybeats.... Jerry Humphrys ...Bon Scott....ACDC etc etc ...
