Mick's Family Camping at Glasto 2013
Posted by: dead.flowers ()

I remember this was discussed here before Glastonbury, when Mick in an interview basically had pointed out he and his family were going to put up a tent backstage in Glasto, which should be lots of fun etc.

But then I never heard anything about it afterwards. Anyone knows what happened to MJ's plans?

EDIT: grammar

He posted a couple of Twitter pics in front of his yurt.

Sounds so cool, DP, thank you. Still unbelievable ...

However, would anyone have a chance to post these pics?

Someone did post a couple - I remember one sweet one with some random festival-goers in the background
in very eloquent "omg do you realize who that is" poses

I definitely saw a photo of him wandering through Shangri La (the late night area) and the NME article about the Arctic Monkeys mentioned that he watched their set from stage side.

So his onstage banter on the Saturday night seems to have been a pretty acurate summary of his time at the fest.

Yes he definatly stayed in a Yurt and he was seen in various place around the site on Friday night and early saturday. I spent most of Saturday walking around the areas I thought he might have been in...but no sign...did get to meet and chat with Thom Yorke though!

Seems Mick may have spent quite a bit of time hanging out by some stream there...

Best song ever....

It certainly got a good response from the crowd (3/4 of them assumed it was a whole new song!) Very clever move by Jagger.

I thought so too, CHEERS CM smileys with beer

Stones!!!

PS

3/4 of them assumed it was a whole new song!

HEY!! Maybe that is an angle Mick could use to play some deep cuts for us crazed fans who would love to hear some songs we have not heard played live....

Mick could just change up some of the words to the good ole songs... and put the name of the city they are playing in, and sing a couple of lines about a couple of the city's landmarks, and VOILA!!! us old timers get a deep cut... and the people (noobs) at the show who wouldnt know the song and (and to Mick's horror seem possibly bored) would hear their city's name and the landmarks sung about, and think Mick wrote them a song.... AND THE CROWD GOES WILD!!! AND WE ALL WIN!!

smiling smiley It was/IS awesome.... and it just gave me an idea....

3/4 of them assumed it was a whole new song!

HEY!! Maybe that is an angle Mick could use to play some deep cuts for us crazed fans who would love to hear some songs we have not heard played live....

On the next mini-tour, as they travel to different cities, Mick could change up some of the words to some good ole songs... and put in the name of the city they are currently playing in, and also sing some lines about a couple of the city's landmarks, or the venue... and VOILA!!! us old timers get a deep cut... and the people (noobs) at the show who wouldnt know the song and (to Mick's horror possibly seem bored) would hear their city's name and the landmarks sung about, and they would think Mick wrote them a song....
