Two songs off Time out of Mind, and not the usual ones. Sounds nice to me.

But apparently he stopped playing the guitar during the first songs, so we won't see his front side too much this time round. :-)

Interesting setlist, but he seems to be continuing his theme of loads of 60s stuff and loads of recent stuff with next to nothing from the 70's/80's

Bob has really improved his singing in these recents shows. Really great to listen to. And new arrangements for a lot of the songs as well

Re: OT:Bob Dylan Setlist

I saw him last night in Saint John. He stayed behind the keyboard the whole time, facing sideways to the audience. No crowd interaction until the encore when he introduced the band members. Still, it was a good show and the band was top-notch. Too bad though that none of the band members can "show-off" their personalities. It's all about Dylan...but I didn't find him showing off "Dylan" last night either.

That Saint John setlist is pretty much a dream setlist for me. Visions, Desolation Row and Memphis. And his singing's getting better too. Too good to be true. Is the concert available to download yet?

Interesting setlist but i still wish he'd drop that bloody piano and get back to centre stage with his guitar. I really miss his electric guitar noodling as well.

Not enough warhorses for the casual fan. I'd don't know a whole heap of these.

Amazing setlists. Dylan and Springsteen are not afraid of playing a whole range of different tunes.

Enjoy the shows donvito27. The first times I ever saw Bob Dylan and Neil Young the shows were within 3 or 4 weeks of each other........in 1978.

Hm, looking at the last setlist... I guess there aren't too many artists who can leave out songs from 3 whole decades (1970-2000) and still provide a strong set!

I wish he'd cover those missing years a lot more, though... many mighty fine songs waiting to be dug out there!

Genius makes it's own rules

Dylan has about 40-odd albums and a back catalogue unmatched in quality by pretty much anyone.

Theres no real excuse for any music fan to be unfamiliar with it

I actually do have a number of Dylan CD's - the famous ones (Blonde, Tracks, etc.). But I haven't really dug in.

It's ok Elmo......there were a bunch of Bruce songs I didn't recognize when I saw him last month.

On a different note, "Desolation Row" is one of my all time favorite songs by anyone. I have yet to see him perform it live.

That's cool, Gazza. You know, Lukester had a good point comparing Dylan's catalog and Bruce's. I'm very familiar with Bruce's stuuf and at a recent show I attended, my friend (a knowledgable music fan) didn't know several songs! Some of 'em very well-known to most (Out On The Street, for example).

Yeah I wouldn't mind seeing old Bob at least once. It would fill in one rather significant hole in my rock & roll resume.

Bob doesn't seem to care much about the needs/desires of the casual fan. He certainly has no interest in making songs sounds like the old studio versions. You're along for the ride or you're not. His current touring band is very good, but I miss the days of Charlie Sexton and Larry Campbell.

Larry's off with Levon Helm these days. I saw Levon's show in Baltimore last month -- a generous hootenanny. If you have a chance to see Levon in your area or you can get to one of his Midnight Rambles in Woodstock, by all means go!

Why isn't Bob Dylan playing guitar on any of these songs. Besides his songwriting I always felt he was a decent guitarist with his own style, especially on acoustic. What's with the keyboards?
