We Love You as the opening song? Really? Hmmm. Not sure if I really think that would be good for a dozen or so reasons, but hey.

Personally, I'd like to see a surprise, something different - like throwing Let It Rock down in '78. A cover of a great rock n' roll song they've not yet done. In fact, I'd wish the whole show to be full of surprises.

it would be the intro with a tape mix (like not fade away was) and they would rush into it when the lyrics come with fireworks and everything. It would be a perfect warm up.

I think grizzly is onto something......good idea.

Something new and not done before. Not Fade Away was a great new approach in 1994. Start Me Up followed by You Got Me Rocking was way predictable and boring in the 2005 shows.

I'd like to see something like Mother's Little Helper, Mick can come onstage and say "What a drag it is getting old" in a tongue and cheek sort of way. Then follow it with a rocker.

The Last Time and mothers little helper are good suggestions. If You cant Rock Me Would be cool too. But I think perhaps the best way to go is an old cover. Maybe one thats never been recorded before. At this point I think they're running out of their own songs to choose that would both come as a surprise and that would work well.

Nah...I still think Have You Seen Your Mother Baby is overdue, especially as an opener. All that noise at the beginning would be the perfect lead-in for the band.

yep LIR worked great on the 78 tour. Something like that again would be cool.If not chuck berry maybe another fast Otis Redding Number.

Yeah, Ive seen a Mick Jagger Solo Performance Of Have you seen your mother baby IMO it went down pretty well. If the stones did it, it would only be better.

BOORING as usual. Maybe new tour, new concept. No half empty ground, posing and playing the big stars, which they aren't an more?

Small arenas, less warhorses, some rare stuff, and then, opening with "potted shrimp" or whatever...

Yeah, If You Can't Rock Me sounds like a good choice, especially for a smaller sized venue. I remember when I made a tape of Love You Live in the old days: I changed the running order to make it sound more "dirty" and the tape started with If you Can't Rock Me. Cool chords, cool attitude. Sounded just like "plug (in) and play..." But I doubt they would use it. It's not your typical opener for a stadium show.

2009 Tour?

This is my wish:

The stage is in total darkness, then we hear thunder and the make some lighting and then in the flash of light, they start "Have you seen your mother.." and during the whole song we have "thunder" and "lightning" and rain and when the song comes to and end, the "rain" stops the sun comes and top of the stage we have a big rainbow! And you can guess what the next number will be.."she's like a rainbow"

Screw the general public and what they know or don't know. It's not about that. I think it would be fantastic if they did a bunch of lesser known 'hits' and singles and make all those general public people wonder what the hell is going on.

And then for the very last 2 songs they can do the warhorses - hopefully something somewhat decent like JJF and Brown Sugar.

i think paint it black would be a goog opener. i think you need an opener which everyody knows but wasn't an constant opener on a previous tour.

i'm so tired of openers, frankly. i think they should just skip the opener and go right to the second number....

Mick come flingling down on stage in a parachute and all dressed up
like a woman. I think they did pose as women in a pic some decades ago.

It would be a great challenge for any make up artist to fix this!
