The way Keiths ends "Let It Rock" I think we can regard this as a false ending!
Listen to it again, lots of energy here!
Those who haven't got the show, look into UrbanSteel's vaults:

rock'n'roll isn't supposed to be this complicated. we're all simpletons here - can't we just stay on topic and not confuse things more than they already are????

Just trying to give the panel some more grey hairs, here!

what hairs?

anyway - it's not about false beginnings, or second starts or one-cheek sneaks or any of the other stuff.....it's about FALSE ENDINGS, where the song APPEARS to have been intentionally stopped by the band...only to restart again, much to the delight and surprise of the audience, which shows its undying approval by shrieking in unison to the realization that this fabulous song isn't over after all! YAY!

....ok?

I know, T&A, you shouldn't take me so seriously - well, some of the time, but not all of the time
edit: nevermind....please take me seriously all of the time

Get Up, Stand Up from the Biggest Bang DVD has false ending.

Also Happy from Keith's Hollywood Palladium '88 record.

i'm not sure if this is considered a false ending, but the ending to "can't you hear me knocking" has always kinda bugged me. charlie's cymbal crash after the last note. it just sounds like he didn't know the song was stopping there.

Buenos Aires caused a false ending to "Saint Of Me" on No Security.

Point: Argentina

Not sure if I know what a false ending is exactly, but Citadel seems like it would fit - when it has that long break about 3/4 way through.

Wasn't looking too good, but I was feeling real well.

That's definitely a false ending, Cindy
...I'm not too sure about T&A meant "live arrangements only" though, for this thread

he didn't. and Citadel is a interesting case - our crack legal panel will be going over this case in the coming days...first they needed to have a little irish "craic," though....

Another Stones song with false ending: Fool To Cry
the false ending is even more prominent on live versions

<<even if not technically the stones....>>

Since the panel apparently accepts sideprojects too - like the Winos' way of playing Happy,
we may just as well throw in the Barbarians' version of JJF

Also, I seem to recall Sympathy played with some sort of an false ending
on the Licks tour at least once - namely the Stockholm club gig

Fingerprint File studio version has a false ending....

T&A, I'm not sure I understand what your term is for a false ending and not wanting to upset the panel anymore than I have already could you explain, with more abundant detail, just what a false ending - is that like "over" "topping" a levee as opposed to ... a levee being "topped"?

skippy - our panel is awash in guinness today, so please forgive a delayed response. they should be back in the saddle and capable of responding in a few short days' time....
