Umm, tomcat, that was 16 years ago. Hardly what you'd call modern era, right?

By modern era, I meant post-89.... I guess it's how you look at it but IMHO I'd say mid era was 70s-86 and 60s of course early era.

I have this one on CD from the live Voodoo boot Sparks Will Fly - my favourite version of Shattered, the bridge especially:

Yeah, Saitama was the best Bigger Bang show, by a longshot.

Keith was still playing his ass off in '94.

OOC got much better during the B2B tour, but the clip rocks indees.- On discussing the eras, I would describe 1989-1999 as the Stones part two, they played some of their best concerts ever in those years, and from 2002 on Stones part three. Saitama was among the stronger ABB shows, I like to watch it, but the performance is a little strange.

This one is maybe the one and only song that consistantly swings with the modern era lineup as well. But, boy, is Chuck loud on this Montreal 89 version!

That JJF performance from Saitama was surprisingly good, with impressive playing by Ronnie. But I wish Keef would play the riff more consistently and pose a little less. Already by the second instance (in the intro) he kind of drops it.

The HTW from Saitama is way too rushed, IMO. Very typical of modern Stones, They should listen and learn from their "slow grooves" of the '69 tour, or perhaps HTW from Brussels '73. But I know that's never gonna happen.

Giants Stadium 94 was amazing, so was Soldier Field in 97, after that show the setlist and shows changed dramatically, enjoyed the 97 Giants Satdium show though and was amazed at MSG in January 98....after that...well they should had called it quits after Live Licks, that tour should had been their Swan Song.

Strange how? And I agree, Keith did kind of abandon the riff after the first try on this JJF, but at least he plays all of it (and indeed all of most of the songs, a blistering Let's Spend The Night and Oh No on this show).
