Hi,

Bought Sticky Fingers, Remastered this week.
The sound is i.m.o much fuller, louder. A great buy.
Also got IORR a few months back, but i am not so overwhelmed by it, as with SF.

Just thought to let you know.

Now all i have to do, is wait for Exile box set and Ronnies new cd.

Enjoy the Music !!
Bye Jeroen-Netherlands

The general consensus here seemed to be that of all the remasters, Sticky Fingers and GHS sounded the worst, and that IORR sounded surprisingly good.

Maybe it depends on which sound system you're playing your music.

I think I have quite good - and expensive - speakers, which have been calibrated with Audyssey Multi XT to a reference frequency response. Most of the recent remasters have so much energy in the upper frequencies that I find them simply unpleasant to listen to. Certainly for a longer period of time.

I'm going back to the originals (I have my music on a server and listen via a Squeezebox Duet).

This is my SF remastered:
BS
Bitch
CYHMK
Sway
DF
WH
IGTB
YGM
SMorph
MLM

Try it. The musical journey flows in this order. I no longer listen to the album in its original order.

Not bad. If it were an LP, you'd have a LOUD side and a QUIET side.

I didn't notice a great deal of difference between Virgin and UMG Sticky Fingers, just some enhanced clarity, and a slightly nicer EQ. However, I thought the UMG IORR was quite a bit better.

corriecas, I agree completely. The re-mastered Sticky Fingers is sweet. Sweet as a summer day with the sensimilian. Really it sounds better, especially Can't You Hear Me Knocking. Wow, even more of a punch from Keith's raunch festival. Sway, the orchestra is much warmer. For sure. Sounds like a Duestche Gramephone. I am very pleased actually with all of them! Much fuller over all sound and more towards analogue warmth.

But after all is said and done, nothing beats the Japanese import pressing from the 80's of Sticky Fingers on vinyl. True perfection, sticky fingers indeed!

Glad to hear so many positive comments on this re-release. But I've been holding off buy it. My question to all of you out there is - How does it compare to the MFSL version? Is it really an improvement to this release? The MFSL version just jumps out of the speakers.
