How about the three ways Keith plays you cant always get what you want?!..Original in open E with Capo on 8th fret..a different way on R&R Circus..Steel wheels i think in open G..and sometimes played with only 5 strings......Any comments on this?

I'm pretty sure Brain played the main part to y.c.a.g.w.y.w. at the circus

He didn't, what you hear guitar wise is really all from Keith. Brians part is sort of audible, but it's hard to pick out due to the bass.

Brian strummed these 2 chords(shown below), standard D shape for the changes(If you try sometime), then same F chord(you might just find) as shown below.

C

1-x
2-x
3-x
4-x
5-10
6-8

F

1-x
2-x
3-x
4-7
5-8
6-8

I always thought that the riff is played Keith Richards. It sounds 100% Keith. And I am convinced that MT earned his credit for coming up with the chord progression that makes the chorus (quite his style).

The riff is played by Keith, with slide.

I think it's Keith too.

It sounds a bit more stiff compared to Taylor.

Sice we are here, can some explain me from the point of view of strict musical theory what's the trick with Keith's first solo in Wild Horses, the studio version?

I mean, I can play it, but I can't say why it sounds good. For sure it sounds damn good.

I wonder if Brian's guitar was that low live? I've heard rumours about a bootleg of the RnR Circus were he is better heard and is doing well. If that is true then there would be no reason to lower his guitar in the mix on the official release.
I mean his guitar may be there but I can't hear him at all on JJF, PW and YCAGWYW

...but back to the topic

If anybody has got a tab for dulcimer on Lady Jane it would be highly appreciated! I've tried to figure out it for a while and I think that I'm close. The melody is a piece of cake but it's hard to hear what he is doing on the other strings.

He is more audible on the bootleg/outtakes and although what he plays is even more basic than any of his previous guitar playing, I can't really detect anything wrong with what he plays. As for why they(whoever they may be) chose to turn him nearly all thew way down on the official release, who knows!?

A for dulcimer, he doesn't fret any of the other strings, they are simply ringing out or muted.

Back on topic: many TABs can be found here. Not always correct (especially the one's made by someone called Czar), but at least a good starting point.

That's how I used to do it but never thought it sounded good with the chords. Especially on the "Just hear this plea my love"-part.
Watching the singback version at Ed Sullivan it looks like he is playing in octaves on the d-strings. The scratching sound from a wounded string reveal that this may be so... But on "Just hear this plea my love"-part I think that the wounded D is muted.

Damn...I spend too much time on this. sad smiley smiling bouncing smiley

Good thing you do spend too much time on it, cos I think you're right. This close up supports what you say even further. thumbs up

Chordie.com also has a wide range of tabs. Most are from other sites.

I am trying to play Let It Bleed in standard tuning. I am playing C,F,G,C

Somehow it just doesnt sound right to me. After the slide intro, KR does a little thing where it sounds like he plays an open D chord and the puts his pinky on the 6th string 3rd fret and lifts it off .

Can someone walk me through this?

Thank you!

He sent it to me as a .RM file to share on the website, I've
converted it to .AVI to share via you Tube, I think "Fen" NailED it

Let It Bleed also contains an E chord.

That CYHMK video is pedestrian at best.

Ha ha Elmo! That's hilarious! You know what also contains an E chord? Not very many Stones songs actually. I can't think of any.
