Posted by: normanplace ()
Date: December 21, 2006 22:04

This may have been covered in another thread BUT my vote for worst b-side...

No Use In Crying....

I mean compated to SMU anything will pale in comparison but this one has always struck me as a poor choice.

Best b-side...Let It Rock

No Use In Crying is a far better song than Start Me Up, even though I like Start Me Up.
It's a wonderful song, everything about it is great.

I rather go for the best B-Side, but this is not the topic.

Down in the hole is a very bad b-side.And a very bad album as a whole.
Good Times, Bad Times is a very good b-side.

Fancy Man Blooze is a keeper - much better than its a-side. Love the long version on the recently unearthered early SW mixes....

Oh, see I assumed by 'b-side', we'd exclude b-sides which are also just album tracks (Like No Use In Crying).

So...

Best: All Down the Line (Live 95)
Worst: Everything is Turning to Gold

Down In The Hole, No Use In Crying and Everything Is Turning To Gold are 3 of my favourites.

Shall we start our own board Erik ?

Really? I find Everything is turning kinda boring.

OH!!!

Must not nearly as bad as some o' the dancey remixes! I vote ALL of those as the worst, actually. Everything Is Turning is MONKEY MAN compared to those!

Some singles in 67 could have the switched sides, and still make plenty of sense.
Dandelion/We Love You, LSTNT/Runy Tuesday and 2000Light/She's A Rainbow.
I think LSTNT and Ruby did change sides in some countries, 'cos the A-side was a bit offending...or how was it again...?

Speaking of singles...I met a person today, who had around 3000 Elvis albums, including the very first 7" and LPs...1st pressings, acetates, bootlegs, the biggest collection I've seen in my life...by any band.
I even got to touch those Sun singles! Like an amazing museum.

I agree RockMan
The funny thing about a/b sides in the sixties was that most of them where both good I remember when I bought my first single (11) my brothers and sisters only liked the B-side Michelle/Girl form the Beatles

Ruby Tuesday is a good b side.. A lot of people say that ruby tues. is better than the acutal single LSTNT. I think theyre both good.

Stoned is also good..
...out of my mind...
It couldn't have taken too long time to write it or record it, though.
