I found this article from today and from the same newspaper.
It says that the mayor is very interested in this concert because a relativeley unknown city like Erfurt (Eastern Germany) only gets one time a chance like this. The problem is that they are worried about the lawn on the field, which they need one month later for the worldchampionships but also for the training in the weeks before...and they fear that football-regionalleague (it ends on June 2nd), Herbert Groenemayer (June 14th) AND Rolling Stones would be too much.
For me, the date for the Stones concert seems to be realistic, 6 days between Stones and Groenemayer will be enough to change stages.
Also, for me, this would be a great tactic for the Rolling Stones, who, IF they tour through Germany again next year, have to play in smaller places due to the not so perfect ticketsales this year...but it they go into smaller stadiums, they have to do this BEFORE other stars, in order to be the ones, who "opened the cage"...
Let's wait and see...
