Could this be the 'upside down' thing that BV was referring to. A one off gig at Glasto before starting the tour properly in the US?

And no tour in Europe ?
So you think we'll have to wait two more years to see them again ?Quote

Their most recent tour was in Europe. And they did one the year before that. That market has been flogged to death. They wont do a proper tour in Europe until they've done plenty of shows elsewhere first - most notably the US.

It's been already a long time since June 2007....
Ho hard would be to do safe 15 song set full of warhorses. Which is what they they probabaly would do.Quote

It'd be a huge gamble to start a tour off with a high profile gig - their first in 3 years - in front of a 130,000 crowd (and a crowd that isnt even their own fans either) and millions of viewers on TV.
I also think they'd be very reluctant to not only want to be 'only' a co-headliner at an event with U2 but also to go head to head with a band who by that time will have had about 15 months of touring under their belts.
Glastonbury is the last weekend in June. The chances of the Stones having an album finished by that time would be slim and the chances of it being released by then would be very remote.

Don't know who Muse is.

They kind of filled Wembley Stadium twice in June 2007...
Shows visually great, musically a bit boring for me...

Likewise....actually, I heard of them, but never heard them...that I know of. Could they even draw 500 people at a club?

They wouldnt be talked about as a possible headliner if they werent a huge draw.
They were the first band to play the new Wembley Stadium - and they filled it twice. Thats over 150,000 tickets.
I would doubt that the Stones would be able to do that at the minute.

Never heard of Muse until a couple of years ago, i just couldn't believe that they filled Wembly on 2 or 3 nights, anyway I saw them on the Johnathan Ross show (BBC 2 tv) tonight and I thought they were great!.
