Review: Opening night, 2008 World Tour
Date: September 4, 2006 21:29

The boys were really rocking tonight, it was unbelievable! They've still got it! They opened with Start Me Up, although there was just a slight glitch as Keith was playing music for "As Tears Go By." Nobody minded, the boys were hot. The second song was Jumping Jack Flash. This shows the Stones are really getting innovative with the setlist, as JJF is rarely played second. The sound wasn't good and nobody could hear the first minute of it, and then it became apparent that Mick forgot the lyrics and was just humming the song. Nobody minded. Everybody was on their feet rockin'!

Then, it was time for Keith, and he did Happy (minor problem as he forgot to bring his guitar with him) but, man did it rock, although it was almost impossible to hear. They launched right into Brown Sugar, but Charlie, apparently thinking the show was over, had his bathrobe on and could be seen walking off stage. Keith manned the drums until they whisked Charlie back. Smoking version of BS, totally rocked! We thought that was it, but the boys treated us to an encore of Satisfaction, while Mick actually sang Sympathy for the Devil. A totally hot setlist.

Hey, you expect a few mistakes. They're not perfect. As for the 5 song setlist, no whiners please! You get to see the Stones, right? And since they now offer financing plans and low interest loans to buy the tickets, how can you go wrong! Great show!

LOL! However, since you weren't there you aren't qualified to comment on whether the show was any good or not, nor are you allowed to say anything about the setlist smiling smiley

Yeah, but Blondie sounded great on guitar, playing both Keith and Ronnie's parts, it's too bad that to so many people he will always be the "new guy!"

I know what you're commmenting on, but what do you mean he wasn't there? He's writing a "review" in first-person. Or, do you mean he wasn't there because it takes place in the future and the future hasn't happened yet. If the latter, very clever. Thanks, fleabit: very funny!

An understage ticket isnt a bad idea. I'm only amazed Cohl hasnt thought of it yet. Wouldnt pay $5,000 but if theyre available, youre welcome to be on Keith's side. I'll be on Lisa's.
