The artwork for JUMP OFF is a reverse colour bigger than life blown up cover of Dirty Work.

somebody should definitely compile a "Worst of the Rolling Stones" cd - perhaps include a couple of bonus tracks on an accompanying dvd, too....
dont give them any ideas .in a dumbluck kinda way they could hit paydirt with something like this .instead of doing something worthy from the vaults which they guard .

Interesting choices. personally speaking, out of those 24, I'd only consider about 8 of them (asterisked) to be turds

The rest are mostly just OK, but not particularly horrible. Some are actually quite good

Some of the songs there are quite innovative and the band deserve some kudos for trying something different. Its interesting that theres hardly any Stonesy 3-chord rockers on that list.

Angie, IORR and Miss You are very good songs which have just become over-played down the years (which I presume is most people's problem with Miss You - because the original is fantastic as is IORR, well the last couple of minutes of it anyway)

Continental Drift is a f**king masterpiece IMHO, and one of the best things they've ever done.

Skipstone has assembled an accurate release. Following, however, would be removed if Producer:

It's Only Rock'N'Roll
Cant Be Seen
Sweethearts Together
Rain Fall Down

Yeah - how can anyone diss Continental Drift? It's the last time the band truly reached out to try something different - albeit a nod to Brian - and make a brave move away from rock.

And yeah, they did some very nice Steets of love live renditions.
Atlantic City was especially good. But that was a great gig anyway!

It shows the depth of the Stones catalogue that we can have such differing views on such a wide range of songs.

The List below for example - true, some of 'em I agree with are absolute turds, but there are a surprising amount there that I actually love. For instance; Angie, New Faces, Rain Fall Down, Miss You, Continental Drift,Gunface, and even Anyway you Look at It.

JUMP OFF - THE WORST OF THE ROLLING STONES 1971-2005
Angie
Rock And A Hard Place
Streets Of Love
Winning Ugly
Cherry Oh Baby
Back To Zero
Always Suffering
It's Only Rock'N'Roll
Sex Drive
Sweet Neo Con
Stealing My Heart
Hold Back
New Faces
Cant Be Seen
Sweethearts Together
Gunface
Rain Fall Down
Might As Well Get Juiced
Continental Drift
Keys To Your Love
Anyway You Look At It
Miss You

With lyrics like these, how could it be anything but 'Had It With You'...

I love you, dirty f*cker
Sister and a brother
Moaning in the moonlight
Singing for your supper
'Cos I had it I had it I had it with you
I had it I had it I had it with you

Sweet Neocon is one of their worst, I hate the horrible lyrics of just my imagination on SAL, ("a girl for you, and a little boy for me, aha"), this their worst coverversion.

Yeah, I put some well known good songs in there for the very reason you pointed out Gazza - just heard 'em too much (Angie, IORR, Miss You). Some of them are in there because they are clams (Streets Of Love, Sweet Neo Con, Gunface, etc) and some others seem like really bad filler (Blinded By Rainbows - which musically I like, Always Suffering - nice guitar by Keith but otherwise a dud, etc). And the too many times played tunes (again, the FM Vlassic Rock heavy Angie, IORR, Miss You).

Although I still don't get why Continental Drift is held in such high regard. When I read about it and the hype of it being a sort of nod and follow up or whatever to what Brian Jones wanted to do I thought it would be cool. And that part of the song is awesome. But the other part, the song part, the Stones, is astoundingly pedestrian and bland to me. And that is why I don't care for it. Take out the Master Musicians of Jajouka and it's just a big yawn to me.

Overall it's just a tongue in cheek thing because someone mentioned having a comp album of those sort of tracks. So I did one for shits and giggles. And that's all it is.

I agree with most of the songs which Skipstone mentioned, except of the songs It's Only Rock'N'Roll and Angie, I don't think airplay can screw up a song totaly, just remember how it sounded back then

I agree but the problem is when I hear them, ha ha, I turn them off! Although every now and then I'll actually listen to 'em and pick out the odd moments - the hi-hat flare in Angie for example.

The choices are easy:

1. Sweet Neocon
2. Sweet Hearts Together
3. Back To Zero

Why does everyone hate Sweethearts Together? It's a simple pleasant summer reggae song meant for a date with a Singapore Sling.
