I kind of like Sweet Neo Con, especially the lyrics. I guess it's a European thing.

Yeah. Europeans are all so pro-Bush, right enough.

I put this on. Leslie speaker, "scar you with my brand" second reference to facial disfigurement on the album, "really want to be my man" gay reference, Taylor lets rip (to this degree on any other studio track?), Lyrics pretty much shite, track wasted potential. At least two minutes too long.

A head scratcher indeed.

"Scar you with my brand" is more of an emotional reference than actually a physical brand.

"No Anchovies, Please"

Tie - Might As Well Get Juiced and Gunface

That's insane. " Gunface " is a great track. Even if you don't like it,how can you say that it's worse than stuff like " Sing This All Together ( See What Happens ) " ????

I'll take Sing This All Together over Gunface. STAT I actually listen to, whereas as my two picks I skip.

The "really want to be my man" part I always thought of it as the girls reply.

I'll buy that. Still, it was a swing and a miss in terms of a great ballad.

Jagger was just off the mark lyrically for most of GHS and IORR.

I think that it's interesting that it is so hard to think of any really BAD tracks from their early albums. When they were in their element, playing the blues, they really couldn't do any wrong. Once they started taking more risks - Aftermath, Between the Buttons, TSMR . . . there were a few more misses.

I would agree with the possible exception of a couple songs from December's Children. Gotta Get Away was always one I could barely listen to. Blue Turns to Grey isn't much better. Fortunately they regrouped, ditched the covers and made Aftermath...

The participation in this thread reinforces my original point: it is much easier to tear down something than it is to build something. Sad, but true.

All Stones songs in the 80s are bad! ;-)

Considering how many songs the Stones have in their entire catalogue, I'd say the lists of songs mentioned by everyone is very little tearing down.

I've been a fan for over 30 years and have had my share of had my share of ups and downs with a number of their songs, including the usual suspects noted in this post. Some I liked initially and then grew to dislike, and vice versa.
But the one song that I have never, ever liked and find truly irritating and almost impossible to listen to is Sway. Lyrically I find it quite beautiful, but musically I find it to be a monotonous, angular drone. It's like you put all five of them and a string section in a box, and then rolled the box down a hill. A very tedious and laborious task. It's always sounded so forced to me, and is always "the day that breaks my mind" after Brown Sugar. Nevertheless I am happy that the majority of fans seem to really enjoy this song. I am just not one of them.

That's your point of view. Another way of looking at might be: either you like it or you don't. No big deal, just as everybody's happy and enjoying themselves.
