"c'est le gros problème avec les Magazines de cette époque qui rarement créditaient les photographes"

Il faut peut-être regarder dans "l'ours" du Match...

Sinon pour la photo, il pourrait bien s'agir de Jean-Louis Atlan qui a bossé pour Match et Gamma. En tous cas ca colle avec le crédit.

yes it is
I write it yesterday: on the photo in Paris Match you can read : ATLAN GAMMA

My ever first 3 shows. Remember pretty much the last one. Outside The Palais des Sports ( capacity of 7,000), there were as much policemen as potential attendees. Some of the last rioting for " free entrance". Teargas. All what I expected from The Stones at that time. It was also the first time a group gathered such a "big" audience. Thanks for this pic.

Hi guys, I found this forum taking about one of my photograph. So i joined to answer all your questions. 1- the photographer who took it is me, jean-Louis Atlan. In 1970 I was shooting for Gamma photo agency. The press was not allowed at this concert so I bought a ticket and got as close as possible to the stage. i wanted to have a photo of Mike and the crowd so I climbs on the platform holding the speakers on the right of the stage. i got around 10 second before the security kicked me out of there. I was lucky, Those 10 second where enough to get the shot. My photo Publish in Paris Match, it was mission accomplished.
For those who would like a print, go to my web site. Www.jlatlan.com
Thanks you all for your appreciation.

Welcome jean-Louis. Checked out your web site, some great shots there. As far as the shot this thread is about, can't seem to link to it to see what folks are talking about. Can you please post the photo or a current link to it here? Thanks. peace

The original post is from 2009 and unfortunately the links have expired.
Very fine that you've located us, Jean-Louis Atlan! You've got some beautiful shots indeed on [www.jlatlan.com]
but not (apparently) the one of the 1970 Paris show that started this thread

Your photo is so good that by just reading "by the speaker" I know exactly which photo this thread is about. It's one of the best pics ever of a band.

Fully agreed, welcome.
Isn't this the picture? It's in the portfolio, first column sixth line.

Jean marie and me know very well someone who was there at the show, the great and incredible Claude (who was also at brussels 73 special french show).

He told us that there was cops everywere even at the metro station and you should have a tix to get out of the station.

Can someone please post the original first pic?!I seem to remember it as outstanding and full of energy!
That was a great tour. Been there. It was my first Stones tour.
It's been special because it was the Stones on stage as a rockband now -(after the Beat days) and the last tour without fences where you could lean - and jump on the stage.
The mood in those days was very aggressive and politicised. There were riots and demonstrations everywhere - so lots of police. My recollection is more about the atmosphere then as about the actual concert.

The one on the right of just Mick is the one Jean-Marie posted, I think.
Thanks very much, Honestman.

I've been to modern club shows. But those were the real great rock days.Feeling the vibrations of the stage.
In Essen a girl jumped on Jagger and he nearly fell off the stage. And all the time people grabing the microphones or the cables, roadies fighting to get them back.
