if i had to pick ONE fave- he'd be the one - his work with brubeck is amazing - and he did a number of incredible solo albums along the way. just a "cooler than cool" liquid sound...
Paul Gonsalves, Johnny Hodges, Roland Kirk, Sonny Rollins and Pharoah Saunders. Only really like the sax in a jazz setting. In rock it's usually used to add cheese to a track.

Looks like there's a good number of Jazz lovers on IORR. Excellent! Although the core topic (Sax players and the Rolling Stones) has.been all but abandoned, some of the absolute best Sax players of the last 100 years have been mentioned in this topic! Hats off to all of you!
