Well, I just wanted to say that I attended last Saturday's Fleetwood Mac concert and I was so surprise to find that I knew very well every single song they played, this without even trying, I don't own (never had) a single recording by this group. They must have took some airwave time over the years.

Anyway, I had a great time, Lindsay Buckinham just blew my mind, boy he's talented. Mick Fleetwood and John McVie are very good, maybe a bit underated. I never though I'd be posting this but I attended a pretty good show.

I saw them in 1988, the day that Holland beat England with 3-1 during the Euro 88 with a brilliant Marco van Basten (3 goals!!!!!!!).

Unfortunatly Lindesy was not in the band during that tour although he took part in the CD of that tour: Tango In The Night.
He was replaced by 2 guitarist/vocalist, don't know there names.

are two of my all-time favorites.

I've always loved th Buckingham/Nicks/McVie line-up of this group. Especially the Tusk album, which for me is F.M.'s White Album or Exile equivalent. I love the John McVie/ Mick Fleetwood rhythm section... a real legendary groove there.

It's too bad Christine has left the group, her presence is definitely missed on their latest album, which I was not all that psyched about.

I think Buckingham's latest studio album, Gift of Screws, is fantastic, by the way. Really good.

They are playing Birmighham NIA in a few weeks, was planning on turning up and getting a ticket off a tout outside the venue.

Prefer the Peter Green stuff myself, but have never seen them before so thought I'd go n' check em out.

mick fleetwood ranks very high with me among rock drummers - instantly recognizable

lindsey buckingham is one of the best guitar players ever. i agree his newest album gift of screws is crazy good. he doesn't have a bad album

Rick Vito and Billy Burnette. Rick Vito toured with Bob Seger for a while I believe.

Spot-on comparison this I think; It makes Rumours their Sticky Fingers / Sgt. Peppers equivalent, which is about right i think...

They split the Rumours stuff up a bit but there's a heavy emphasis on that album to be sure. They put on a hell of a show. Could use a little less on the 70's stuff and I think it's a shame that nothing from their 2003 album "Say You Will" made the set. You guys think the Stones are bad with changing up setlists....the Mac has had this setlist since opening night in March. The only change has been the occasional dropping of Silver Springs. But that's just the way they are and have been for years and years.

Hmmmm, perhaps during the '70s Jonno.

They lost me as a fan when they brought the very nasal Stevie Nicks on board, putting the divine Christine McVie in the shade. Before that, I was one their biggest fans.

Christine left the band on her own. They have asked her many times to come back. She's not interested.

Well, to be fair, they all wrote and sang their own songs on each album and live, and even once Stevie and Lindsey joined in '75, a majority of the "hit" songs were Christine's....Say You Love Me, Over My Head, Don't Stop, You Make Loving Fun, Hold Me, Little Lies, Everywhere, As Long as You Follow. Sure, Stevie was out front and center, but it's not like Chris just became a backing singer. It's too bad she has left....she was an amazing balance between Lindsey's "weirdness" and Stevie's...uh, "weirdness."

I was at that show.She was there but didn't play unfortunately despite all the rumours buzzing round the arena.

Are they touring now? Europe? Would love to see them.

I still prefer the pre-Buckingham/Nicks work, and in fact, don't own anything from when they joined.

There is also a solo album which is very fine, 'The Legendary Christine Perfect'.
