DVD's weren't invented when 25 x 5 came out and by the time it had been, the documentary was already several years out of date.

So, it would be pointless.

taking a wild guess here - but maybe it had something to do with genuine, widespread interest in the former?

Yep, but it's only region 2 version. On the other hand I believe there is no official Gimme Shelter DVD in Europe.

Because those two bozos are afraid of Jones and Taylor. Those two names right there could have created an interesting band, One to rival?

25X5 and or LSTNT would outsell The Biggest Bang and probably Four Flicks combined.

That's why they won't reissue those on DVD. That and the fact that they don't like to live the past.

Ignore the set lists though - they're 98% in the past.

I seriously doubt they'd even come close to be honest.

But it's the ironic thought that counts.

LSTNT is supposed to be getting a Japaneese release soon. Not sure if its actually an upgrade or VHS transfer.

I've just received digital remaster DVD of LSTNT.
Visual quality is indeed superb.

I realised today that the sound was pseudo 5.1ch dolby remix as Japanese bonus edition.

The argument that 25x5 is out of date could of course be applied to any film that was made prior to 2009. I think 25x5 still has merit. Whether it's commercially viable to rerelease is another matter.

whilst they're at it, they may as well super-impose
Blondie's head onto Keith's body.

The Brazil version is an official release, it came enclosed with some kind of movie magazine. It was widely available on Ebay at the time.

the minor flaw is that its not a movie but a made for TV documentary which covers the story up to 1989 (ie up to date at that time) of a band who are still going two decades later.

If comparing it to a FILM, it would be akin to releasing a movie with just half the story and with no plans to issue part 2.

Not much point reissuing it unless its brought up to date. The opportunity to do so was in 2002 when they really should have released that Let It Bleed documentary which was basically an updated version of 25x5, only better.
