" ..heard about your corduroys..."!!! Hilarious!

I thought it was polaroids also. You know, the photos you couldn't have printed at the local shop. Now I learn the song was about a pair of pants! Thanks BV!

Oh, BTW, I see, c * * k s u c k e r was censored in my post here ... automatically????

If you use certain bad language words on a web site then this web site will be categorized as unappropriate, adult, entertainment or whatever, and many people will not get access to this site from work, as they run filters. That is why I have a list of words that will be scrambled automatically on the IORR forum. I can live with those words, but many companies are protecting their employees from getting access to them. In fact it is the right of an employee in many places NOT to be exposed to offending images and text on internet.

Ahh, I see.

And what do you think Universal and The Rolling Stones should have done with their lyrics to be readable and listenable in "this" modern world of censorship...?

They did only the same you have done, BV.

Say what?????

I've never had a job in my life where I could do anything like posting on music message boards (including the military, where- Stateside- there wasn't much to do. But we didn't have the Internet back then).

So this site is geared towards people who have the sorts of jobs whereby they can post stuff on the internet all day while on the clock?

Is this for real?

I think they already did a mickey mouse version of "Star Star". It is called "She Was Hot" and is to be found on UNDERCOVER album.

oh, i think She Was Hot is great fun, and actually gets quite wistful and sentimental towards the end- very sweet and real. and Stu's B-3 rising out of the gnarly mess is downright ethereal.

Stupid, especially since the unedited version was released on the 1994 remaster!

even more stupid considering the rest of the world have had the unedited version from day one.

and doubly stupid considering theres a more obvious expletive which is repeated about 30-40 times during the course of the same song.

Hey Gaz- my thought exactly!- GHS is the only remaster that I have bought and the overdub is criminal- it completely ruins the song- you can clearly hear 2 lines. At least the quote about John Wayne is muffled and does not really ruin the song as it is not totally obvious.

As you say, by far the worst expletive is said at least 40 times during the whole song- complete idiocy!

yup, i know, been posting a lot tonight/day whatever. But i got four days off in a row!!! i'm a sheriff's deputy and i work on the K-9 team and Emergency Response (SWAT) and so i get blocks of time off; my internal clock is all screwed up! so how better to spend it than posting junk about rock n' roll bands? so sue me!! (just never had a gig where i could mess around on computers for fun...)It's all good. (Except for my posts, I reckon)

I can't see anything wrong in avoiding IORR from getting categorized as a porn site. If everybody could post pictures of naked people and unappropriate language then private as well as work site filters would block IORR like they do with any other porn. People have lots of such filters at home as well. Internet is full of crap. I get more than 100 offers for all kinds of medical products to improve my performance every day. They are stopped by my e-mail filters. Without these filters e-mail and the web would be a war zone. I know. The web is my profession...

Ironically, in 30 plus years of being a Stones fan and being familiar with this song, I've still never even heard the censored version of it. As I dont think I'll be buying the reissues I don't see that I've any need for that to change any time soon.

maybe you can just download the song itself out of curiosity? maybe itunes will just let you download the censored word and you can save a few pennies.

Yeah on Spotify it's the pussy Mick sings. Surely "giving head to Stve McQueen" is more offensive? Or maybe singing Starfuc*er throughout the song is offensive. Oh well. Nothing like a good mass debate so to speak......

Hi,

I've made a french topic on my blog on this "Star Star" version

see here

[lagedordesrollingstones.blogspot.com]

I explain that i'm against this mistake? or censorship?
and I'm askin' people to vote "FOR" the censored version or AGAINST"
I also explain that the initiative of UNIVERSAL is good
we all ask for new stuff, but if they want to do a good job
they have to retired their first pressings to do anothers
with uncensored "Star Star"
If you want to participate
you're wellcome!

HMN
