Had it on VHS way back when. Liked the scene with Rae Dawn Chong.

For reasons of public safety, this 'movie' should never be viewed in its entirety again. This is a very serious situation.

There was an official release on LD, too.
It's now on [www.ebay.com]

An excellent movie, marred only by some of the music. I picked up a 2ndhand VHS tape (via Amazon) a few months back & transferred it to DVD myself.

Bad movie IMO.

The best part is Jagger in the store with records, trying to convince people he is himself. Otherwise, really bad acting. Great songs though.

I remember a embarrassing moment in the past; when I was in the army ("army" was something one HAD to do, back then). I had rented "Running Out Of Luck" on VHS.....didn't know anything about the movie itself; and had also sneaked 24 beers (illegal) into the camp; for me and 2 buddies mine. So I put on the VHS....and good grief.....turned it off after 15 minutes.
Then we climbed the fences and went out. It's a such a horrible movie and so totally worthless - almost like "paulo cahelo" in literature....just absolute trash

It's better than 'Ned Kelly'...

Rae Dawn Chong said the following about the experience:

Playboy: You went pretty far in the full-length video for Running Out of Luck. How do you remember the experience?

Chong: Oh, God, it's almost like porn on my part. I hated the whole love scene. That was always a bone of contention. But I was stuck in the middle of nowhere with these guys, Mick and the director, Julien Temple. I was always promised it was going to be dark lighting, but when we got going, they took advantage of me. I probably should have stopped and said, "Look, this is just too much." But then, in terms of the context of my character, she would have done it. It was just too bad that we didn't have candlelight. What can I say except that I did it? I'm not embarrassed. It wasn't totally disgusting, and it wasn't Inside Rae Dawn Chong. It was no worse than what Sonia Braga did in I Love You or anything else, and we certainly don't think that she's a walking putana. We think she's brilliant. So I'm not going to say, "Oh, it was just terrible and awful." It was what it was. But I learned something. If I work with a director who wants to do some sex scenes, I hope that he'll understand if I say, "Let's make this hot; let's not make this gross."

Playboy: Was Jerry Hall on the set during the love scenes?

Chong: No. She was far away. I don't think she knew or would have gone for it. I don't think she read the script [laughs]. But I don't think Mick was sneaking it--their relationship isn't so healthy or unhealthy that she would stand by and watch it. She's very jealous, and probably rightfully so, though I never gave her anything to be jealous about. Full interview here >>> [www.playboy.co.uk]

It was one of those watershed moments as a Stones fans for me. I began to seriously doubt the sanity/taste/talent/legend of Mick Jagger.
