Dietrich movies, close up boogies, kissing @#$%& in Cannes
Grotesque music, million dollar sad
Let's clear this up once and for all
The lyric is:
DIETRICH MOVIES, CLOSE UP BOOGIES, KISSING CUT IN CANS
CUT as in a film cut
and CANS as in film that is 'in the can'
It's not that other rather rude word that everybody seems to think it is
Just listen to it loud on headphones - you'll hear it is unmistakably CUT in CANS
The lyrics here have a a FILM feel to it i.e. CLOSE UP, GROTESQUE MUSIC, MILLION DOLLAR SAD, and has nothing whatever to do with that other rude 'word'
Cheers

"Kissing cut in cans" doesn't make sense, even though I get it that films get cut and put in the can.
Let's not forget this is Mick "I want to f*ck your sweet ass" Jagger we are talking about here. He was in the south of France at the time, very near the "casinos" of Monaco and the topless beaches of Nice. No wait, Cannes. Which is also famous for its - wait for it - film festival! (Excuse the sarcasm, but one should not be so vociferous when so far out on a limb.)
