OT: Winter - snow!
Posted by: bv ()
Date: January 19, 2009 14:58

We got half a meter i.e. one and a half foot of snow during the past 24 hours. They say it is sort of record in 24 hours here but I don't thinbk so. We are used to plenty of snow in a short while. And it is staying. I spent 1 1/2 hours last night and another 1 1/2 hours moving away snow, and I am looking forwad to the 3rd shift this afternoon. And... they say we will get more, lots more... Picture below from this morning. Not my car... When I walked to work this morning, takes normally 30 minutes but today 50 minutes in all the snow, there were several people on ski, in the roads. Reminds me of one of my favorite tracks Winter!

Livin by the Baltic Northern/Mid-coast during a mild winter era
one might expect our lion's share to fall in March.
Its just like in the 1920s and first half 30s.
But for sure, the white stuff has begun fallin thicker lately.
February use to be dryer.

That stuff sure LOOKS pretty, but I'm glad we don't see much of it where I live!

In LA it's the 9th day straight with the temperature going over 80 degrees (in late afternoon it's about 85 to 87 - much too hot). May sound good but I like it cooler with much more rain (plus my air conditioning is behaving strange and costing extra $$$)....

Saw way too much snow during the Tahoe Xmas blizzard of '08. But it hasn't snowed or rained since then. Supposed to change this week. We badly need moisture of some type.

But how do they taste Rockman? Like chewy chicken I've heard.

Should be the national emblem instead of the Kanga.

The Innu have 42 different words for snow.

I have an impressive selection myself - none of them printable.

Yup. And let's not forget Moonlight Mile. "With a head full of snow". Apparently inspired about a great snowball fight Mick and Keef had back in 1970! >grinning smiley<
