As far as I know there's no soundboard of these shows in circulation.

Just got the 1981-12-05 New Orleans SB tape ([DAC035] Black Limousine CD) and this tape has a major flaw : the guitars are VERY low in the mix.
Is there a better version around?

Its my understanding that most of the 81 sbs are video sourced. Maybe thats the reason for most of the variation in quality? Just a thought.

i've got all the boards from '81 - they run the gamut from "near perfect" to "unlistenable." there are loads of recordings from the past 20 years where the guitars are low in the mix...ummm...actually they are often just "low in the playing." diff problem.

I just got Orlando Oct.24 (VGP source) : great show but a badly overloaded aud tape. Let's hope there will be a SB tape of this gig liberated...

Surprised none else metioned the 12/14 KC show where Mick Taylor joins the band for most of the show....

Bill Wyman in his second coffee table sized book thought it was the worst show of the tour as he complained all you could hear was the guitars but it was amazing to hear all three of the boys playing together..........

As Mick says before the start of CD2 "It's a guitar onslaught"

Imho the very 1st show of the tour is enjoyable : ok LIB is a wreck but otherwise it's pretty strong.

it's a fun listen, for sure - they almost seem to be rehearsing as they go. interesting to hear some of these songs in a different order and arrangements that would take hold in a couple of weeks and before the sax players joined the party. and, yeah, LIB - haha....Woody: "G? I know G!""

The first Philly show is a train wreck and about as ragged as you can get. Tons of mistakes, timing is off, Mick mucking up the lyrics but if is a great listen. It sounds like they did not even rehearse before they started that tour but I really enjoyed how you could hear the band tighten up with each show....

I once listened to that show and then the 1st Hampton PPV show right afterwards and it does not even sound like the same band...real interesting contrast....................

Anyone know if the few remaining shows yet to surface were actually recorded, and therefore may surface at some future date?

The St. Louis show was my first Stones concert, and the only one of 8 that I don't have a copy of.

Could someone please tell me if the Kansas City show - with Mick T- is quality wise worth it? For the sake of the occasion I would get it ,but is the quality good?

He was not plugged into the mixing board so he is not audible in the soundboard mix, he is only audible in the audience mix. That is part of the reason why he stayed on most of the gig as it was more obvious/difficult for them to pull the plug on him. I hope this helps.
