Well they didn't tell us anything all throughout the ABB tour, nor in particular on 21st, 23rd and 26th August 2007 at the O2 ... not that I'm suggesting that this might have been the last we'd ever see of them. But ... who knows ?

I suppose the Stones version of LOVE would be called HATE. Andrew Loog Oldham and his son Li'l Loog could produce it.

Of course my quote was not meant all too serious. If anything, I wanted to express my own feeling that at this stage, it requires a certain kind of "Stones-patriotism" to go and see them again, in particular when next time around, ticket prices will be even higher, shows even shorter, performance even sloppier and setlists even stiffer and more unimginative than already during ABB.

I'm sure that they have several more tours in them yet...
We can't expect 150 minute shows for ever though, so I'd like to see them play 60-75 minute shows that vary greatly from night to night AND with a couple of decent support acts (The Pretty Things for example).

If they tour again the tour should be limited to stadium only shows. This will enable th Stones to play to the highest numbers but also enable them to keep prices at a sensible level - surely a priority in these economically challenging times.
Apart from that in the absence of a new album how about a Stones version of LOVE?

1. IMO after each performance they should look at making the show available either via CD or download. A few bands are doing this already. Not a huge money spinner, but one for the fans!
2. To have the stage in the middle of the arena - no place to hide!

Play their ass*s off. (A blues focus in smaller venues would be nice, too.)
Let Marilou Regan update her book and sell it at all venues.
and ... rehearse in Toronto and do at least 2 club gigs and 2 concerts here.

If it is the last tour, it should be designed to the widest audience rock and roll may ever see :
- drop sharply the ticket entrances to allow the biggest stadiums to be filled ( one single price with a maximum of 50 € which is still a lot of money),
- play the greatest hits everyone would be able to know and sing along ( eg roughly 12 songs),
- have Keith guitar twice the volume of Ron's and have Keith play all the solos,
- for the fans : 2 or 3 songs from the catalogue.
