Introduction

These pages will supply information about the cities the Stones will be visiting this summer. To read about each individual city please select the actual city link in the IORR travel guide pages. If you have information for these pages please send e-mail to [email protected].

Nearest big city

Aarhus (30 minutes away by train).
Copenhagen (2+ hours by train).

How to get to the city

By train you can arrive from Copenhagen, Skagen or whereever you land in Denmark. By air there's Kastrup Airport in Copenhagen, but then you'd have to take a bus or train all the way over Sjlland and Fyn Island to get to Horsens. Easiest way is to arrive anywhere in Denmark and then take the TRAIN. It's not a long time by train (2 hours + from Copenhagen). That's the easiest by far.

Tickets

The concert was sold out in 5 and a half hours so it's hard to get tickets. People also seem to be holding on to them very much. But there are a few ways that I can think of. You could try the IORR ticket trader section. Also www.dba.dk is god (Or just get the paper called "Den Bl Avis" - They always have a few ones selling tickets). Also you could see the show from out on the road or maybe score a ticket from a scalper there.

How to get to the venue

Go to www.stonesihorsens.dk and locate the PDF file that shows venue and how to get there and all that sort of info.

Travel information

Horsens is a small town with 56.000 citizens. There's really not a whole lot to do here noramlly. But when the Roling Stones arrive you will see the city from it's best side. August 24 Madonna will play in Horsens and right after that there will be the annual medieval festival (Biggest medieval festival in Europe). Right before the Stones come here there will be a blues festival in town too (Check the link: http://www.bluesfestivalhorsens.blueskartellet.dk/ ). Also the day before the Stones play there will be Stones jam bands playing on Sndergade and you can have a chance to taste the specially brewed Stone Ale.

Venue maps

Go to www.stonesihorsens.dk and locate the PDF file that shows venue and how to get there and all that sort of info.

Recommended hotels

All the hotels in Horsens have been booked up by the Stones and a few lucky people who got rooms. What I SERIOUSLY would recommend is the Gimme Shelter '06 Stones Camp. for 395kr (Ca. 52 Euro) you can sleep in a tent in the Stones camp and you'll get breakfast too I believe. You have the tent for 3 days and you get to take the tent home after your done. Here's a link: http://www.stonesihorsens.dk/default.asp?i=27

Recommended bars/restaurants

Meeting place for fans

The Stones Camp would be good. The Stonesvikings are up there. I would also recommend Eydes Klder or Corfitz too.

City map

www.stonesihorsens.dk has the How-To-Get-To-The-Venue-Map, which works fine.

Tim Ries Rolling Stones Project

The Tim Ries Rolling Stones Project are performing great jazz versions of Rolling Stones songs when Tim is not on stage with the Stones. Bernard Fowler on vocals, and Michael Davies is there too. Highly recommended!

They are performing in Denmark as follows:

Time: Thursday Sept. 2nd at 8pm
This show is said to be cancelled! Check before you go!
For tickets see www.remisenbrande.dk
For info about the lineup see: www.jazzconcerts.dk
PS. Brande is approx. 30 km from Horsens, half an hour by car or 1 - 1 1/2 hours by train.
