The motivation is "Every riff and solo that has been played the last 60 years contains DNA that derives from him". I wonder if he will attend the ceremony in Stockholm in August, and if he will bring his guitar... Here´s a link to the prize:

I like it. A nice riff and a very live sounding production. But...is it really Charlie on drums, somehow the hi-hat and the fills doesn´t quite sound like him. Could it be Mick?

QuoteDoxa Quotekleermaker The atmosphere on the Dutch forum as I've felt was respectful, sober, liberal, no waving index fingers, no moralizing, no personal attacks and certainly not a lot of emotions causing bad rhetoric, non-typical behaviour and tension and of course no ban of any member or deleted thread(s). That's interesting. Could it be that the Dutch community simply is a lo

QuoteRedhotcarpet And Cindy got banned. Interesting. So a fan starts a thread about L'wren and shares something personal, gets slammed by fans who say they are concerned about Jagger and Scott, report (?) Cindy and now she's banned, after beeing told by a concerned fan to "f--- o--"? And that iorrian is still here. Sorry if OT but it doesnt sound quite right. Edit: and please

The big mystery is how our old rock heroes that started playing in the early sixties are able to hear anything at all. They should all be stone deaf by now. Pete Townshend claimed long ago that he was partly deaf, but strangely enough he still seems to have some hearing left.

Concerning IORR, one of their worst arrangement errors must be Luxury. The song simply yearns for the drums to kick in after the first chorus and make it a really good rock song, but it never does. Makes me angry every time I hear it...

One of my biggest influences in the seventies was the former Procol Harum guitarist Robin Trower. He was often accused of being a Hendrix epigone, but I think he had a very recognizable style of his own. There is a live album recorded in Stockholm 1975 with some increbible guitar plaing on it.

QuoteRedhotcarpet A day in the life is their masterpiece. It's not matched by anything anyone's done. Except Gimme Shelter by the Stones. A song like Hey Jude is not that great, it appears great because of the outro but the outro hasnt aged well. Maccas screams never soudned right. The song is great but theres not true greatness in the song, it's not one of their masterpieces. Ther

Quotestonesrule Glad to hear this. Duke, we seem to agree a lot. I was involved with the film of the Concert and for six nights a week for quite some time worked with the editors. Bob was VERY nervous and George was worried about both him and Eric Clapton. The three of us would sit in this big editing stage and see and hear it all over and over, and we NEVER got bored. QuoteLieB Some of you seem to expect a little too much from 1960s rock and pop albums. True, many of them didn't really capture the power the artists showed "in reality", but it must have been a challenge to properly record loud and trippy people like Cream and Hendrix. The Stones could also have been better presented on record during the pre-Jimmy Miller era, but it was far from t

The whole Cream output sound rather thin, with extraordinary bad sounding drums. I wonder why they didn´t put more effort into the mixing of those albums.
