Quotenoughties I react strongly against this just out of instinct. I`ve never followed Waters through the years so I don`t really know, I admit. He has been milking this piece of music for many years now, as if he realize it doesn`t get any better than this. I know a couple of more acts that have been milking their hits for a few years now.

I like the song, but I think it´s hampered by the stiff drums. Not one of Charlie´s best efforts.

QuoteTops Something from the 1972 american tour would be nice. But the real treat would be if they could dig something up from that infamous 1792 tour.

Quoteswiss QuoteTurner68 Sexy Sadie is about the Maharishi. yup... I think that trip to India was a big mistake. According to Geoff Emerick, the long time Beatles engineer, the mood in the band had worsened considerable when they came back and gathered in the studio to record the White Album. Especially John Lennon seemed to be angry and frustrated most of the time, and a lot of his lyrics on

Quotestonesrule GREAT SONG AND PERFORMANCE BY JEFF BECK, Hendrix's favorite guitar player. I´ve always thought that Clapton was Hendrix´s favourite player in England, because that was the first guitarist he wanted to meet when he arrived there 1966.

QuoteLongBeachArena72 QuoteNaturalust Well here's Jimmy Page throwing the drummers, and Phil Collins in particular, under the bus for their Live Aid performance. Starts at about 07:00. He's a heavy metal genius and I love him but what a dick! Yes, who does he think that he´s fooling? The problem here is not the drummers, it´s Page & Plant. Plant voice is not working, and

Quotestanlove One of the songs that the Stones cannot play well live. The least awful was Texas 78. I don't know why they insist on playing this live. Listen to the version on Stripped Companion, that´s a great one.

QuoteTurner68 Quotekeefriffhards QuoteTurner68 I'm surprised no one has mentioned the scenes of Brian in 1+1, the making of Sympathy for the Devil. You could tell the poor guy was miserable and ill. Very sad. so what did they do. fire him. and people complain about what they did to bill and mick taylor... And what was the options? Let him play tambourine on stage?

He must have talked about those zeppelin albums a thousand times by now, no wonder he looks tired. The reporter says she´s never heard another album with that variety of styles, she obviously missed the White album.

Considering the amount of time Jimmy Page dedicates to this ongoing project I think the sound on these remasters is a huge disappointment. Even Mothership from 2007 sounds better.

Quoteab Achilles' Last Stand is the last great Zeppelin epic, anchored by one of Bonham's greatest drumming performances. Page's guitar layering is also top-shelf. I've heard a bunch of live versions of it, but none of them quite work. I think the Knebworth version on the Zeppelin DVD is brilliant, not least because of Bonham´s fantastic drumming.

Stonesrule writes that Hendrix was a huge Stones fan, and I don´t doubt that, but I think he liked the Beatles even more. He did a couple of Beatles covers, Sgt Pepper & Day Tripper and he occasionally played small snippets of Beatles riffs live, such as I Feel Fine, but I never heard him play any Stones riff at all.
