The trouble with the 81 tour was the sound system and/or unplugged guitars: much of the time the audience heard only noise and not music so much so infact that if it were not for Jagger's singing the audience could not tell what song was being played. It was that bad.

I too think there is a touch too much horns here and there. As I listen to some of the official SBDs, I would prefer the guitars to be louder in the mix. That is not a gripe but ratehr just a preference.
I liked the sound of the reformed E Street Band in 1999. Imagine State Trooper with horns? Egad!
Does anyone remember the No Security Tour with SFTD with horns? Double Egad!

Regarding Bruce's setlist variations, I am in the same boat with downloading and listening -- how many shows can you get?
I will be watching DimeaDozen for a compilation of rarities which some enterprising taper usually puts together. That is my short cut to having it all. Forum: Tell Me
More specifically they took bits and made them better, added great original lyrics and chord changes, but, but ,but, they outright stole, stole, stole, in a way that they would sue $$$$ over. Hypocrisy.

Bob is not stating facts. That people can sense racism, bigotry, in another persons blood?!?! Bob seems to be saying that there is something genetic too it. Are most Germans of today somehow tainted with Nazi DNA in their bodies? Should the sins of a father be automatically inherited by a son?
I do think Bob is a racist on purpose or by default but he is wrong.

I think the Stones have the most faithfull fans of all the bands out there.
Why wait to tour again untill they have made the best deal ?
Don't we deserve a last great half year or so of the Stones live ?
And with low ticket prices so ALL the fans, not only the rich ones, can come and fill up the stadiums.
And why do they need the money anyway ?
I don't think that Forum: Tell Me

theres a video ,i wish i could find it,with the comedian bill burr narrating that clip of john and yoko with chuck berry on the mike douglas show and it is sooo damn funny.
he stopped the video right as yoko started making those crazy noises and you can see chuck berry's eyes...it looks like someone dumped a bucket of ice water down his back.

I have not read through the whole thread but I will mention WFUV 90.7 Fordham University radio station is a very good station. We NYC residnets are blessed with some good radio stations. Q104 as you mentioned is a good one. It is cool to hear Miles Davis, Art Tatum, or even the Stones, on the radio.
Radio used to be an important part of our culture. Forum: Tell Me
An MT influence? Maybe keith will quit the band like MT did way back when to save himself from the Stones. "Somebody stop me before I eat again!" Forum: Tell Me

A really nice story, the citadel. I must say that Keith generally seems to come out cool during these accidental encounters. He really seems to be a nice man.
You didn't dear to mention to him "by the way, my nick name is The Citadel in one fanboard; you don't mind playing that in Hyde Park...."

No Chuck to a GreyHound bus back to Georgia. I ran in to him at the the Truck Stop Lounge next door to the terminal. He was chatting up an unescorted lady and disappeared outside for a bit. The barman dumped his half glass of beer out which Chuck groused about when he got back. Forum: Tell Me

I remember reading George Orwell's "Politics and the English Language" for the first time and how much it resonated with what I was thinking and feeling about world events. Orwell hit it right on the head. It was incredible that someone had already articulated so very, very well my burgeoning B.S. detector.
